Trump is full of shit, so if you have all day.
Someone please explain to the white evangelicals that Jesus was born, lived, and died Jewish.
…bad call…
Hagee boasted on his website that he had helped convince Trump to make the embassy move, telling him at a White House dinner that Jerusalem is where Christ will return to “set up His throne on the Temple Mount where He will sit and rule for a thousand years of perfect peace.” Hagee gave the benediction at Trump’s 2018 dedication of the new embassy, calling it “nothing short of a divine miracle!” This conflation of Trump’s role (the miracle of the embassy move) in what Christian Zionists believe is a fulfillment of divine prophecy (Christ’s return) places Trump in a rarefied space that no other president has occupied. To his evangelical supporters, Trump is deified not because of what he has done “for Israel” but actually for the evangelical vision of what Israel represents — the location of Jesus’s return, and of his envisioned global thousand-year reign.
I have a big problem with having anyone give a benediction at a gov’t event, let alone one in a foreign country to supposedly bless a gov’t building.
And looking at the covers of John Hagee’s books I think we ( at Borders) shelved them in either speculation, or chickened out and shelved them in spirituality. But no where near the bibles.
Am I wrong or are these people supporting Trump and his actions because they think Trump and his actions will lead to Armageddon?
A whole bunch of rightists need to rethink their under-bussing of Ye, or whatever TF Kim’s ex decides to call himself.

As I said earlier, my very religious neighbor is going to Israel for the second time in December (the one who doesn’t like masks and won’t get the vaccine). I’m pretty sure that this is what she believes.
I’d love to ask her, but honestly, what good would it do to have that conversation with someone who’s in that deep. Drugs may fry brains, but so do cult religions like this.
Hagee et al would have voted for Hitler in 1932 and possibly motives might have been free of antisemitism, racism, and all the rest; doubtful but irrelevant regardless.
Historians have a word for Germans who joined the Nazi Party, not because they hated Jews, but out of hope for restored patriotism. or a sense of economic anxiety, or a hope to preserve their religious values, or dislike for their opponents, or raw political opportunism, or convenience, or ignorance, or greed.
That Word is Nazi! — Nobody cares about their motives anymore.

ETA: thought of this the other day when an acquaintance said they considered voting for a Republican because they really disliked the Democrat candidate and my response was a flat, “so what?” The essential Republican program is now absolutely clear: White-Christianist Nationalism; violently authoritarian and ethno-eliminationist at its very core which means you can’t endorse it in any way and remain a good US citizen; in fact just the hope of remaining a good person demands you actively resist it.
Yep, that what they want. They are so sure that Jesus will give them the Rapture pass, and then they’re set.
Singling out people is an anti-social practice that seldom ends well.
V.o: “Previously on ‘the song that doesn’t end’.”
He makes no apologies
For his Hagee-ographies
Just a reminder that Hagee is the same demagogue who preaches that at Armageddon all Jews will be slaughtered except 144,000 Male Virgins who will convert to Christianity.
Make no mistake about it. Hagee and his fellow Xtians want to finish what Hitler started.
Seems like Skanky and Ye are competing with each other on who is more bigoted and hateful. It’s just an awful and toxic pissing contest in the public square.
Josh’s latest post about DeSantis and his Martha’s Vineyard stunt is eye-opening but not at all surprising.
Wow. Just wow.
DeSantis will never be president.
Hey, then you have Tulsi……
Posting most of it because you might need a subscription
In her first weekend on the campaign trail in a new alliance with New Hampshire GOP Senate candidate and on-again-off-again election denier Don Bolduc, Tulsi Gabbard compared President Joe Biden to Adolf Hitler.
Speaking at a Bolduc town hall event in a town outside of Manchester on Sunday, the former Hawaii congresswoman and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate stipulated that she’s “pretty sure” both Biden and Hitler share a “mindset” of good intentions to justify authoritarian behavior, according to audio obtained by The Daily Beast.
“And this is something that is, you know, throughout history, we look at authoritarian leaders and dictators in other countries,” Gabbard said in a tangent about Biden’s Philadelphia speech from September on anti-democratic extremism among “Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans.”
“I’m pretty sure they all believe they’re doing what’s best,” Gabbard continued. “Even Hitler thought he was doing what was best for Germany, right? For the German race. In his own mind, he found a way to justify the means to meet his end. So when we have people with that mindset, well, you know we’ve got to do whatever it takes because, as President Biden said in that speech in Philadelphia, that those who supported Trump, those who didn’t vote for him are extremists and a threat to our democracy.”
Hagee and Cornerstone have always creeped me out. Outsized influence in town to begin with.
Let’s take a deep breath and recall that Trump has no cause other than his own benefit. Why is Trump limited to any particular interpretation? He’s often intentionally vague about this kind of thing because the uncertainty he causes keeps people anxious, and invites their imagination to fill in the blanks about his intent. As a bonus, this lack of specifity also keeps him out of jail when courts can’t pin down his real intent.
His main desire is incitement of people’s passions, with the presumption that he will be the leader of whomever is driven by whatever feeling arises. He’ll be more than happy to provide a target for people to take out their anger. He’ll take any position needed to achieve that. The source and nature of the passion he causes is irrelevant, so long as Trump benefits.
