So a European country is taking social welfare more seriously?
They are delivering more services for less money?
Better hope they donât apply that logic to healthcare, it could really make the US look stupid by comparison.

Reading these stories makes my heart ache because here, our suffering is just beginning. Wait until unemployment runs out in 95 degree weather in July and August, and virus cases soar. If protestors are still on the streets, well, I donât even want to think about it âŚ

In business school, one is generally taught to look at competitors and learn from their best practices. I guess our very stable genius slept through those classes at WhartonâŚAll he wants to do is whine about âunfair competitionâ rather than seeing what we could do better.

And only 6 months too late to be useful.
Canât do what Germany does here: with 3/4 of our government against something like it.
Olâ Lyndon was certainly right about Our Problem.

If anything, the U.S. is now spending more , proportional to the size of its population, on its safety net for the unemployed.
I know one instance of a part-time employee, who was furloughed, and applied for unemployment. With the $600 weekly benefit bump, he was making over twice as much than when on the job. Heâs now gone back to work, not complaining about the extra cash, but it wasnât needed.
Had we followed the German model, he could have been given less and still kept the economy humming.
Republicans donât know how to run the economy or manage businesses.

Nor do their voters understand either.
Somehow multiple bankruptcies (of casinoâs no less) show his business genius.

To be fair, the US response was passed by the Democratic-controlled House as well as the Republican Senate and White House and there wasnât enough debate as to whether we could really focus the aid on those who needed it most. I have issues with the $1200 checks. I got one, and thatâs nice, but how exactly did it help the economy? My wife and I are retired and never lost a penny of income. I would have rather seen bigger checks sent to those who are really hurting.

This is such a simple elegant cheaper solution that puts the relief effort on where it is needed. Sadly this is America so since it doesnât benefit investors and billionaires more all they need to do is call it âsocialismâ and all the politicians from our right-wing part and half the politicians from our âleft wingâ party will runs screaming from the suggestion like itâs poison killer bees with coved-19 even if 80% of the actual population supports it.
Being fair is good. I try to do that once a year ; - )
Thanks, sincerely.
How Germany Saved Its Workforce From Unemployment While Spending Less Per Person Than the US
