How David Kurtz Came To TPM | Talking Points Memo

When I landed in New York City in June 2008, it was heady times for TPM. I arrived from Belgrade, where I had accepted an international press freedom award for TPM’s work on the U.S. attorneys scandal. While there, I had been approached by a representative of the Pulitzer Prize, inquiring about how the eligibility rules for the award could be expanded to include digital native news outlets like TPM.

As long as Kurtz is a part of TPM, I’ll be a Prime member.

Quality attracts quality. David Kurtz and Josh Marshall are at the top of the list when it comes to reliable reporting. I’m proud to be a Prime member and daily reader.

The greatest testament to TPM, besides their ability to build a quality organization in a sustainable manner, are the careers of all the exTPMers.

Barely a day goes by where I read some excellent reporting on the internet, look at the byline, think that the name sounds really familiar, and then realize that I was reading them in TPM a few years ago.
