How A Last-Minute Appeals Court Order Has Injected Mass Voter Chaos Into A Swing State | Talking Points Memo

No, no, no, no–you don’t understand.

It’s now a heads we win, and tails you lose judiciary. If we allow this shit to continue we will move into a literal era of the golden rule: those who have the gold make up the rules.

Following this principle, it becomes clear that State Legislatures’ statutes and a State Courts’ interpretation are only valid to the extent that they advance the position of the GOP. Anything that doesn’t meet that test will be stricken as unconstitutional.

The official last minute guidance by the Minnesota SoS did not mention drop boxes?

Here’s an approach: the Minnesota SoS and AG, on Tuesday, declare they are appealing to the USSC and until they get a decision all legitimate votes, according to Minnesota code, will be counted. F the 8th circuit.

Tell the court that you are going to count them as planned. Let them enforce their decision after the fact. We need to start playing hardball with these crooks.

This tells you something.

In the meantime, Minnesota election officials and their partners are launching a desperate public messaging campaign stressing to voters…

It seems Democrats in government are always trying to provide great service to citizens of all political stripes, while Republican government takes a lot of golf breaks with lawyers to find the judge who’ll decide the way they want.

So insanity aids all this deception, and the rebukes sit on their asses. The same ones who thought McCarthy was a great idea, gleefully grilling and punishing anyone they named as traitors. They have always, always been cheaters, liars, dirty undemocratic motherfuckers. We knew this, did we not? They are determined to finish off this country, its leadership in the world. This, if successful, is the end of humanity and civil society. It’s just a matter of time in that case, and we are done as a species. The earth will eventually recover, given a few hundreds of thousands of years. It’s that situation that makes us crazy now.

On a positive note, it seems pretty clear Trump has already lost Hawaii.

Whoops! Donald just declared Hawaii a territory ineligible to vote.

Darn. It was looking so good for us ; - )

He wants to flip the state, I don’t think this is the way. It seems to be provoking voters, trying to suppress them.

Now for something not unexpected:

Asked whether he would support reinstating the controversial “zero tolerance” policy that led to families’ being separated, Miller said the Trump administration is “100 percent committed to a policy of family unity,” but he described the policy as one that would keep families together in immigration detention by changing what is known as the Flores settlement agreement.

So how does an administration nullify a court settlement agreement?

I am old enough to remember this.

Wisconsinites should respond with equal skepticism to the news that Waukesha County Clerk Kathy Nickolaus, a former Republican legislative staffer who worked for Prosser when he served as Assembly Speaker and with Walker when he was a GOP rising star, has found all the votes that justice needs to secure his re-election and that the governor needs to claim a “win” for his agenda.

There is no need for a conspiracy theory. The facts raise the questions that lawyers, campaigners and activists are now asking.

The clerk, who has a history of secretive and erratic handling of election results, says she forgot to count the votes of Brookfield, the county’s second-largest city, in the total for Tuesday’s Supreme Court election.

Nickolaus claims that it was “human error” that caused her to “lose” the Brookfield results on her personal computer where she had secreted away the data. Yet, she apparently knew of the “mistake” for twenty-nine hours before reporting it and then handed the information off to conservative bloggers and talk-radio personalities.

So I expect the Supremes will step in and note their very recent decision that it was too late in the game to change the rules… Right?

I think the time has come to suggest that there may be need to try certain judges for violating the civil right of so many electors. The games they play are causing irreparable harm. They should be taken to task.

It boggles my mind why anyone would procrastinate in this election. Especially considering the wolves waiting to pounce on the slow ones in the herd.

Fortunately I hand-delivered my mail-in ballot to the SLP city hall a couple of weeks ago.

Next up, the lawsuit that, since hand-delivered “mail-in” ballots never receive a postmark, they can’t be counted.

Oh fuck.

Wait for it, someone will try something like that, with all the suits they’re doing to stop the count.
