If there was only something like a Federal Records Act and Presidential Records Act that requires them to keep these kinds of documents and communications. And if only Congress was authorized to get them for purposes of … what should we call it? … how about, ‘oversight.’
We will find that making and maintaining records in compliance with applicable laws and regulations are things the Trump administration may have overlooked or had a few problems with over the years (and by overlooked or had problems with, I mean flagrantly and intentionally disregarded and refused to do).

The report cited two unnamed White House officials who claimed they were “not worried about defying or mocking [House Judiciary Chairman Jerry] Nadler because Pelosi has made it clear she is not interested in impeachment and the House Democratic Caucus is split about what to do to counter Trump.”
Well, of course it is, but we still have some crazy people who believe that nothing could be farther from the truth and we would be handing the election to Trump if the impeachment went forward.
I, like every else here, am in the “just do it damnit” camp.
