Is it too late to add Katie Porter?

I dunno ā€“ did Pelosi fill all the other positions after McCarthy withdrew his nominees?

I am interested in 2 things: 1. Are they going to call senior Trump Administration officials (Including the former POTUSā€¦) as witnesses? 2. How aggressively will they explore collaboration among sitting members of Congress?

YEARS In The Making

The lie continues

ā€œThe extraordinary events in this matter constitute exceptional circumstances warranting an accommodation to Congress,ā€ wrote Bradley Weinsheimer, an official in the office of Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco.

Would be more than a little odd and, to my mind, over the top, to say coup plotting was covered by executive privilege.
But I guess the ruling was necessary since we know Donnieā€™s gonna go there.

And we can expect far-right GOPers to try to raise hell on the sidelines to distract from the hearing throughout the day.

I eagerly await one of these loons to be called as a witness. Itā€™ll be interesting to see if they think they can lie to the committee like they do every other day from their seat on the floor.

ā€œThe Justice Department is allowing former Trump administration officials to testify about Jan. 6, per a letter obtained by the New York Times.ā€

Sort of ambiguous. Big difference between ā€œallowsā€ and ā€œcompelled to if subpoenaedā€, no?

I fully endorse this idea. Speaker Pelosi should, at the very least, get Rep. Porterā€™s whiteboard onto the committee.

Porter has a killer CV in the world of law. She could latch onto some white shoe law firm and drag down high seven figures tomorrow if she chose to. There are big things in her future.

That footage made me feel they should have just shot a few dozen of them and let the others decide if they felt equally patriotic or if maybe leaving seemed like an option as well. I know why they didnā€™t. But itā€™s what those animals deserved.

Thompsonā€™s opening statement and the video brings a lot of clarity to this 6 months later. There can be no doubt that this was an organized coup attempt. The intent was to disrupt the peaceful transfer of power. There is no doubt in my mind that Trump should be charged and tried for crimes. Those folks didnā€™t show up there on a whim. Trump brought them there.

I was going to say cultish.

Itā€™s really doltish

A thin line, my friend, a thin line.

Iā€™m hearing song lyrics in thereā€¦

If MacArthur or Patton had been at the top of those Capitol steps events would have gone much differently than they did.

At the risk of sounding like a broken recordā€¦ I, myself, remain utterly mystified as to why anyone who was inside the capital building that day without permission was permitted to leave. Why is the FBI having to track them all down? They had them in one place. Bar the damn doors, and then haul 'em off to an Army base to keep 'em under armed guard. That they let any of those motherfskers leave is simply a scandal. Heads should roll.
