Trump’s teflon is running just a bit thin these days. These guys sure have an unjustified faith in future pardons.

All this will go away when Caribou Barbie becomes Speaker of the House.

OT: The request is absurd, but tell me again why Clarence Thomas doesn’t have to recuse. Hypocrisy is just a way of life for Republicans, but I’ll never get used to it.

Well, I’m sure that Merrick Garland and the DOJ are going to jump right on this. Why, I bet a platoon of lawyers are preparing filings for the grand jury as I type. The same platoon working on the contempt indictment of NC vote fraudster Mark Meadows, Ginni Thomas’ favoritest seditionist penpal.

Yeah, I bet Bid Bad Merrick will probaby have 2 or 3 shifts working on it!
h/t Nice Dreams movie.

Actually, sometimes think of Merrick as the frail kid who would do just about anthing to avoid being beat up. I hope the 1/6 Committee paints him into such a tight little box with the quality of their case that Merrick has little choice.

When does DOJ start taking these referrals and start indicting and arresting people? Is Mr. Garland perhaps waiting for a 2nd Trump administration to make it all moot?

Yes, that must be it. It is amazing to me that folks don’t think twice about major MURDER cases taking nearly a decade but start caterwauling about failure only months in. Holy fuck I get so GD tired of surrender monkeys.

Jan 6 comm = concept designers /researchers …their time from inspiration to having a sketched out depiction of their idea can be swift. They can come up with great images but it becomes somebody else’s job to sweat the details of meeting the technicalities of satisfying code.

The DoJ = architects /civil engineers …they have to meet code … their output has to be executable… has to pass a lot of checking, rechecked and meet legal requirements. Failure to comply with all technical requirements results in your project being canceled

… and yet, in other cases both large and small, the DOJ relies upon “the plain language of the law” and settled law that “intent may be inferred.” Not just in charging decisions, but to obtain convictions.

W.T.F?

I grow weary of the Garland bashing on here. We all complained when we had the interfering asshole Barr as head of DoJ, but now that we have an AG who works the system correctly, we now simply want our own version of Barr, not actual rule by law. This does not make us better people.

Garland’s role is not to manage the prosecution of the insurrectionists. He has deputies for that. His job is to manage the ENTIRE DoJ, not just this one partisan corner of it.

Can we please accept that and think before we bash him?
