It’s about time. Our current legal system has too many slow-walk opportunities. Justice delayed is justice denied, and we’re not seeing much “justice” for the insurrection organizers yet. A few of the lower level people have been convicted, but Individual One is still at large and in charge.

So the congressional fascist cult remains united in their opposition to accountability for fascist cult members. United in their opposition to our democracy and in their disdain for the rule of law.

I do not consider Cheney and Kinzinger to be members of the fascist cult, nor does the cult consider them members.

Once upon a time, not too long ago, the GOP touted itself as the law and order party. Now known as the GQP, they clearly have no use for law and order, as repeatedly displayed by their unanimous rejection of due process, bringing criminals to accountability and justice, and playing fast and loose with rules and traditions that they expect others to live up to.

And all this is most definitely NOT a fairy tale.

Criminal Contempt is mearly a process crime. Not worthy of prosecution. Yea right.

Sorry about UNC, but they sorta blew it. :grimacing:

Good game though, apparently. (I only read about it.)

Well sure, but that was never meant to apply to their own actions. Just those, ah, “urban” folks. You know, the congenital criminals…

Scavino and Navarro would have, in another age, been outstanding patent medicine and encyclopedia salesmen. Funny how, suddenly, the ability to sell people stuff they don’t need is seen by so many as a primary qualification for leadership.

McCarthy is such a cretin. All he needed to have done to sabotage J6 was put forward a few less lunatic GQPers forward and blocked the whole thing as Pelosi bent over backwards and they’d have had that power if they pretended to co-operate with setting up the committee. These are not smart people.

But the Justice Department is already so busy doing nothing. How will they ever find the time to fail to act on this info, too?

And sadly, this is our best hope. The GQP has been scraping the bottom of the gene pool for so long that McCarthy is almost the best they can do anymore. I exempt the Wily Old Tortoise, of course.

Not to brag or anything, but I’ve held Navarro and Scavino in contempt for years.

GOP black letter law on discovery: You have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Navarro and Scavino broke any law in their support for the Big Lie or the planning and execution of the insurrection before you are allowed to discover any evidence that they may have done so.

Pfffft. Meaningless twaddle. We can all see how well that worked out with Meadow—er with Banno—er…

The punishment for Criminal Contempt barely rises above the punishment for driving 90 on the freeway. It’s a bad joke on anyone who wants to see justice done.

I’m sure Merrick the Meek will be right on it (after a sufficiently long delay to make sure he does not appear to be too political).

Perhaps. But they are busy making sure they are well up on the generic ballot for November when they can just end the whole investigation. So maybe they are just smart enough to destroy the country.
