The House Oversight Committee on Thursday demanded that the Office of Special Counsel investigate reports of “multiple, repeated violations” of the Hatch Act by the Trump administration during the Republican National Convention last week.

Yeah. That’ll take care of it. Thanks Ray.

Good thing this “investigation” will get wrapped up sometime in 2023, when they will impose a small “fine” on the perpetrators.

Small ball. Dragging the IRS chief down to explain his slumlording would make more sense.

The Hatch act violations are small potatoes compared to to the systematic undermining of the Electoral System openly being perpetrated by Trump, Barr, Wolf and Radcliffe.

As long as Trump is squatting in the people’s house, RNC, other Trump admin cabinet(s) and staff has violated Hatch Act repeatedly with impunity!

The Lawlessness of Trump regime is bottomless…
So if we truly want the real deal “law and order”,
You know what to do this coming November 3rd!

Trump, his family and his administration are guilty of corruption and lawlessness and the incitement of corruption and lawlessness, both large and small. The remedy for that is for Americans to vote on November 3rd.

November third, vote him out. November fourth, impeach the motherfucker again.

Trump would not be talking and acting like he is (like vaccine-promising, etc.) if he were All Powerful.

It’s just that our system has been revealed to have dependence more on mores and tradition than statute law…and even the latter has been revealed to be subject to slow-moving appeals processes.

Trump and Trumpism will cause a lot of changes. Starting with January, 2021

Just to reiterate: The Hatch Act is utterly toothless. It imposes no criminal penalties. The maximum anyone can be penalized with is a $1000 fine up to five years being barred from federal employment. None of these miscreants gives a shit, because the Hatch Act is designed to not cause anybody to give a shit about it.

Would it be funny to get a sizable majority in the Senate, which takes power in early January, 2021, and use Nancy’s greater majority in the House to Impeach.

The Senate would have an actual trial, with legitimate procedures.

Look, I know there’s a lot of ‘Yeah, right, that’ll work/show ‘em attitude.” But, it’s important to document the lawbreaking and establish a paperwork trail for the next AG. And if all else fails, the future historians of “The Shitshow Years.”

Dems, grow a brain! How about from now to the first Tuesday in November we focus on bigger issues than Hatch Act violations? Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez?!?!

Not sure that it would be funny, but it would be justice, albeit delayed. I am all for it.

“Potential” violations? While they’re at it, would they also check into who is paying for Trump’s visits/campaign events to places like Kenosha?

I don’t mean to be cynical and I certainly don’t want to minimize this lawlessness but is this really the best use of political bandwidth? The republicans will just flick this off of their shoulders and nothing will come of it and the Durham report will just then seem like it’s usual partisan tot for tat instead of the egregious abuse of power it will be. Save it for the Biden administration truth and reconciliation commission

Couple of issues with that:

  1. It would need to be done before Biden takes office or it will be cast by the Turtle in a way that ultimately smears Biden and robs him of capital to accomplish anything.

  2. The transition generally requires department heads in place. The more chaos in the transition period caused by democrats the worse off we are. There will be enough chaos cause intentionally by Trump.

  3. The better way of handling this is letting a new AG and FBI director set up a task force to investigate corruption criminally. Impeach after you get the convictions and keep the congress out of it for now.

Potential???

That is funny.
oh when will the crime family and all, I mean all, seriously, all the criminals in lock step with this maladministration be put down forever???

Just one of a thousand cuts.

Anything that inflicts stress into their system, the GOP’s, is a positive thing. And if they all get fined for their actions, it’s on their records and they have to spend more of their precious “precious” to try to get out of it, and that’s all to the good.
