House Intel Narrows Trump Financial Record Subpoena To POTUS, Immediate Family | Talking Points Memo

The House Intelligence Committee narrowed its subpoena for President Trump’s financial records on Wednesday, asking for a smaller range of information after the Supreme Court issued criteria last month for the content and purpose of congressional demands.

Again, wonderful timing, RNC-wise…

The opinion itself held that courts should consider four factors when weighing congressional subpoenas that involve a sitting president, including whether or not the information is available in other ways, the breadth of the request, the request’s legislative purpose, and the burden placed on a President by complying with the request.

Apparently timeliness is not a factor. The subpoena becomes moot in 69 days, and dead on January 3rd.

Why? Really at this point it is an extraordinary act of defiance for Trump to continue to hide his financials. The House asked, Trump said no, then there was a law suit that reached the highest court, the court said “Yo buddy the argument you and your mouthpiece put forward is BS”, court to the House tighten up your request on what records you want. And now here we are, new subpoena, Trump will say no, and the campaign ads are written.

If I were writing a fiction novel, the mobster don character would say:
“There will be delays…I promise you!”

Better late than never, but follow the money because the Trump crime family had been robbing US tax payers shamelessly and relentlessly!

Addendum:

Schiff said the committee will no longer pursue certain documents that predate Jan. 1, 2015 and will limit the request to Trump and his adult children, Ivanka, Don Jr. and Eric, as well as the Trump Organization… The revised subpoena would also only seek details about transactions of $10,000 or more…

Yep, and continually applying more legal pressure on Fat Nixon, particularly during the RNC FearFest can only lead to more hilarious Trump hijinks…

Trump’s D.C. isn’t a swamp, it’s a sewer!

I saw this last night. If it has any validity then I can see why they need to hide the evidence:

Mueller Deputy Andrew Weissman now on MSNBC: “This is really serious. This is not a bit of hidden income. There are allegations that Eric Trump and the Trump Organization did not report $100 million in income. And that’s just one allegation.“

Of course, true believers wouldn't care.

What to do when a criminal organization has seized the levers of power? And is leveraging the Constitution against the American people.

Yeah, vote. I know. But you got anything else? Because 4 years is a long time to suffer. If we get out of this mess, we need to think things through and make some changes.

If Biden wins, the GOP will be on board on monitoring this stuff. Of course, it will be difficult to craft legislation that stilpulates that Republicans don’t have to comply with any laws, but they’ll give it their best shot.

I’m going to suggest a cesspit, a sewer mean the waste moves towards a treatment plant, which cleans and treats the water, releases for use by others down stream. Whereas a cesspit just has shit and pee sitting there, it may breakdown over time, but one has to live with the stench for a very long time.
And really a swamp in nature has a purpose.

It is great timing, and that’s entirely due to the stonewalling of the Trump family. If they had chosen to cooperate at virtually any point in the past three years no subpoena would be required.

Well done Trumps!

Trump is running the largest criminal organization in American History. The only way to stop it is to vote him out of Office.

And that cannot be refuted or silenced.

I don’t doubt these numbers, but people I pass them on to surely will. Do you have sources for this?

While I’d love to see Trump forced to respond to investigations before the election, at a minimum, every subpoena and legal action that is threatening to him adds to the psychological pressure and requires an investment of attention and emotion on his part.

If he manages to steal the election, none of this just goes away. Even if not reelected, his retirement from office will be hounded by legal actions on every front.

SOB deserves everything that is coming at him, one way or another.
