Compared to other impeachment inquiries.

Yeah, that was a rather glaring omission.

Barr is giving Fox and Co. a counter narrative to report — just creating enough noise to lessen the impact. Looks to be a standard Barr tactic these days.

This is a criminal conspiracy.

Your assignment, class: Compare and contrast the Report of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence with the Republican Staff Report on the Trump impeachment inquiry.

“‘Excellent’ and ‘Piece of Crap’” has already been taken as a response, but that’s a bit short on analysis, even if perfectly accurate.

Nope. The Nixon impeachment inquiry was greeted with lots of obstruction. What about the Johnson one?

Wouldn’t want to be on AF One with this guy about now. Or in any enclosed space.

“The Founding Fathers prescribed a remedy for a chief executive who places his personal interests above those of the country: impeachment.” That’s quite a pull quote.

The tribute to Rep. Cummings is a lovely gesture.

Meanwhile, Nunes’ name appears 50 times in the report…

Now we know for sure why our acting President hates ‘intelligence’.

And yet, the undead GOP keeps staggering around biting people, infecting them with their virus and eating their brains. The undead can do much damage.

They are talking about it on MSNBC. Devin Nunes phone number keeps coming up.He was much more involved in the very thing he was supposed to be investigating then we ever knew

OT, but…

“I just heard – to my great chagrin and distress – one of my favorite CNN hosts say “clearly President Trump doesn’t think he did anything wrong.” Not only is this not “clear” it is almost certainly false. We shouldn’t say this because it’s not true. He certainly knows he did something wrong. He simply doesn’t care.”

Except even that’s not quite true, Josh. He does care. That’s why all the bravado to maintain appearances and “brand” in service to his narcissism and all the machination to maintain head-above-water innocence to avoid real punitive consequences.

The reality is, Trump knew he was doing something wrong, planned both to do it and cover it up and try to get away with it and is now acting consistently with consciousness of both guilt and the dire consequences he could face, continuing to obstruct, cover up and conspire to escape the brand-damning stigma AND the real-world, potentially criminal repercussions. It’s not that he doesn’t care, it’s that he is able to act with an air of nonchalance having spent 70+ years of his entirely corrupted life getting away with everything, over and over again, because of his wealth.

The phone logs showed contacts between the leaders of the pressure effort at key moments, including during the smear campaign against then-U.S. Ambassador Marie Yovonovitch.

I hope the smear campaign against the ambassador becomes an article of impeachment. A prez has the right to install and remove ambassadors for any reason or no reason, and yet DT and his flying monkeys still chose to smear her rather than just saying, “We’re ready for a change.”

And how many more will be wrapped up in this before the end, including Senators who will serve as the jury in essentially their own trial…
