The senator’s Democratic colleague, Sen. Whitehouse, has pointed to Tuberville’s call with Trump as a possible indication that some Republicans were conspiring with the president to delay the certification vote and give the mob time to breach the Capitol building.
At least half a dozen Dems have been hinting at this since the insurrection. They know there are colleagues in both chambers who aided the insurrectionists in some way. They may never be able to fully prove it, but it’s like Pelosi said, “the enemy is within.” It’s got to be hell having to go work side by side with people who tried to have you killed.
It was nine minutes later. Just long enough for Trump to confirm Pence was being evacuated and then fire off a tweet in hopes of stoking more rage against him. At the very, very least, it confirms that Trump didn’t give a damn about what happened to his VP.
Yeah, it bugs me too. I block it out by remembering the greatest hero of that day was Officer Eugene Goodman. The turn of a Black man’s head saved democracy. You can’t even make that up.
they don’t, that’s why when Sen Lee raised his “Look! Squirrel!!” objection last night, the House Managers agreed to strike the statements from the record. It was really just extra sauce for them.
Didn’t sound like it. They gave an overview of it based on Sen. Lee’s comments about it being about objecting to more States, but no juicy tape presented yesterday.
There’s no evidence for that narrative (and narrative is all it is). There was also never any reported statement by Lee that would make the slightest difference to what the House Managers presented.
