House GOP Hardliners Cave, Unlocking Process To Make Sweeping Medicaid Cuts

I really shouldn’t be amused by this, but I kind of am. Johnson is obviously lying his ass off about Medicaid not being cut. And all the money “saved” will be hoovered up by these ridiculous tax cuts that normal people don’t get.

Most assuredly, by the midterms dipshit MAGA voters will have come to understand the hard way that Medicaid is not just for the unworthy “poors”, but it funds a whole lot of what they take for granted.

I live in a large city and make a decent income. So, I won’t be driving two hours to the closest hospital which will no longer take my insurance. But a whole lot of MAGA voters are going to have to find out the hard way.

And when that happens, they are going to be pissed. No one likes being made a fool of. And they’ll start voting for the turn-you-and-your-kids-queer DEI child molestors who actually arent any of those things. Idiots. Why does everything have to personally affect people for them to buy a clue?

Why do these silly reporters keep calling it “big beautiful bill”? Is there some useful information transmitted by repeating Trump’s propaganda phrasing? Sometimes it seems like the media types are so hypnotized by this guy they cannot think for themselves.

If SCOTUS can overturn precedent and the Republicans can stage an insurrection and coup, and get set with it why can’t our elected Democrats make more noise to obstruct this evil? Hakeem and Schumer need to go. They are not making enough noise. They are not leading.

Indeed, maybe the cruelty is the point. Hat tip to Adam Serwer at The Atlantic.

I need to check in with my local Indivisible group to see if we can do some intra-Martland district protests of Andy Harris of the Freedom Caucus.

Republicans will find a way to reduce deficit by harming American people. It will not help American people. The deficit was created by Reagan, W, and the felon. Each one reduced taxes on the wealthy and removed services and regulations that helped the middle and lower classes.
Today’s SAVE act passed by the House is to make it harder to vote so republicans can win. They can’t win on a level playing field.

That’s easy.

The rich. I think we should seize the assets of those 735 billionaires, sell them off, and distribute their wealth to everyone. What’s, let’s say 3.3 Trillion, divided by 330 Million? $10,000 for everyone! Even the billionaires would get that!

They seem to be the primary beneficiaries of the fear mongering over gub’ment spending and the propaganda about how jawb creators will put people to work.
A tax rate and system that allows them to repay those ill gotten gains would seem reasonable enough.
Something outta the Fifties, which their toadies otherwise idolize.

Maybe they could institutionalize and ritualize it. You know, like set aside and dedicate three or five minutes to it a couple of times a day.

Johnson said Republicans are “committed to finding at least $1.5 trillion in savings for the American people while also preserving our essential programs,”

but couldn’t we get more than a boiled potato and a bit of gristly meat from the hooves, or maybe a cancer cure instead of morphine for the pain?

We were once the richest country in the world, yet we just don’t get nice things, we get things that work, maybe, but no bells and whistles for us, just for the really rich.

Tax the rich til they cry.

Just a reminder that nearly every service provided for adults with disabilities, like day programs, residential programs, employment services, personal supports, transportation, etc., are provided through the Medicaid Waiver. Agencies that work with these individuals get over 95% of their funding through Medicaid (actually from the state agency that is almost completely funded by waiver payments). The burden of providing everything for these people will be transferred to the families (for those that have them) of the individuals. Those without families will likely just be homeless. We force them to maintain almost no wealth or assets to be eligible, so taking the waiver away would be completely and totally devastating to their lives, unless their families have the means to take care of everything they need. Oh also, nearly everyone that works with them will be out of jobs as well.

Not only ID, but ID with the same name as on the birth certificate, eliminating married women who took their husband’s surname additionally.

They’re going to do everything they can between this moment and the 2026 mid-terms to either prevent All voting or, corrupt the living daylights out of it like 10.
