Originally published at: House GOP Conjures Up Conspiracy Theories About Senate-Passed DHS Bill
Shortly after President Donald Trump on Friday signed a presidential memo directing the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to pay Transportation Security Administration (TSA) employees Friday, a key House committee meeting descended into conspiracy theories as it debated whether to take action on a Senate bill that would do the same. Trump’s executive action, on…
I really really want to just sit back and laugh at the MAGA meltdown. But the consequences are just too damn serious. But the House has to know that there is no way that Thune is going to call the Senate back to vote on some dead on arrival bill concocted by Chip Roy and the Freedom Caucus. Time for a reality check in the House, maybe they’ll demand a new Speaker !
“I have determined that these circumstances constitute an emergency situation compromising the Nation’s security.”
But… but… but… he created the circumstances. He compromised national security. So, he deserves more authority?
Try impeachment first.
Someone in the House needs to confront Mikey about the monetary gift he allegedly got from the First Felon. Likely illegal and probably the reason Mikey isn’t on board with the Senate offering.
Round 2 of the Dotard has enabled the lamest, stupidest, most ignorant and mean-spirited people to positions of power in our government. Without that moronic criminal puppet of foreign and moneyed (and foreign-moneyed) interests, I would not have to read about the Chip Roys and Mike Johnsons of the world.
Just tell the House MAGAs that the Senate bill includes free Grindr subscriptions for Congress, and the GOP will pass it unanimously.
Just to be clear -
The House Rules Committee met Friday afternoon to consider the House GOP stopgap.
Bottom-line - the Republicans on that committee - killed it - and thus would not permit a vote.
If it had been given a vote by the entire House … the numbers are close - the anxiety is high amongst GOPs in angry purple-turning-BLUE districts.
So the strident Ultra-Right wingers are going to do everything in their power to avoid an objective vote.
And after the reported turnout is announced for the rallies nationwide tomorrow, they should be a whole lot more anxious.
Look at the list of GOP members. Pretty representative of the country. NOT!
Would be a shame if the flu strikes the TSA staff volunteering at airports in their districts.
Sorry, we don’t take out-of-state checks.
Who would want the job? Heck, who is left to do it?
…Over the past year, G.O.P. resignations have reflected the challenge of remaining unified amid intraparty fissures and constant pressure from Mr. Trump to fall in line on every issue…
I’m so waiting for Chip Roy’s comeuppance.
Hopefully a number of those Republicans departing will be replaced by Democrats.
We’re trying to run a federal legislature with the sorts of people who’ve been banned from all the local bars in their hometowns for being obnoxious, predatory, or both.
Why am I not seeing “Republicans In DIsarray” headlines everywhere?
Because their supporters own the media outlets and they can’t be made to look bad.
From CNN…. “ In an effort to boost spirits as people wait multiple hours to get through security check points, Southwest employees are playing music on a large speaker inside the terminal building. The “Macarena” and “Who Let the Dogs Out” had a handful of people grooving. “. Oh wonderful, now they’re torturing people ! I wonder how many hours of listening to The Macarena song it takes to drive someone into a homicidal rage ? We may know by tomorrow….
And TSA still isn’t getting paid - they get to deal with that for eight or ten hours.
Thune spoke up this morning about how the Senate’s deal was a sign of the Dems losing and the Repubs winning. I don’t know what mainstream media made of this extraordinary claim. I laughed my head off. Seriously, Thune???
good lord I have to fly Southwest in about 10 days
I am not volunteering to be a guinea pig for your test.
