FEC filings reveal that the House GOP’s official electoral committee uses Crowdstrike, the cybersecurity tech firm at the center of President Donald Trump’s unfounded conspiracy theory about the DNC and 2016 election meddling.
But, as is always the case with interminably persecuted Rethugliklans, Crowdstrike didn’t do anything to anybody. Not that that would hamper them squealing like stuck pigs.
Maybe by using Crowdstrike they will be able to slip out during a meeting, sneak past Crowdstrike security, and finally find the server. You know it’s there someplace, just waiting to be discovered.
Correction: In reality the House GOP uses Crowdstrike. In the bizarro world Limbaugh farted from his Oxybrain, Crowdstrike is an evil group controlled by Deep State that tricked the FBI Deep State also controls to trick the government Obama controlled into blaming Russia because Ukraine hacked the Democrats and Deep State wanted to smear Russia as a bankshot political hit on Trump for working with Russia to get the emails they hacked…or something. I don’t think anyone is supposed to go this far down the rabbithole.
I think its more nefarious than that…By using Crowdstrike tRump and his henchmen will claim they can’t be hauled in before Congress to be interviewed and provide investigatory background into their involvement and shenanigans leading up to the Ukraine/Russian 2020 election interference efforts.
Its all of a piece, of interlocking connections that provide cover under the rubric of tRump’s criminal entanglements with some pretty unsavory characters. Its like that flowchart Josh Marshall posted on his twitter acct. showing how Firtash, Frick and Frack and the hopefully soon-to-be disbarred lawyers are all connected. Just throw Crowdstrike and the RNCC into that mess. tRump will try to claim “presidential immunity” or some nonsense like that. Its like one big immunity umbrella in tRump’s eyes.
Probably unrelated, but today I got three different calls from numbers I don’t recognize, 2 866’s and one from WA state (where I used to live, years ago). I rarely get calls from numbers I don’t recognize these days, and today there were 3. Has this happened to anyone else? I ask because I’m wondering if they’re ramping up their outreach efforts before tomorrow’s election and the coming public phase of impeachment. Or, perhaps polls? Most likely it’s nothing, but you never know these days. I’m cell only.
Just for the record, back on planet FactsActuallyMatter, Crowdstrike is a well known, reputable, and capable vendor in the business of defending computers against advanced attacks. (They also happen to be a competitor to my own employer in that business, so it’s not as if I have a particular personal incentive to praise them.)
Ah, that’s right, it’s open enrollment time. I’m still too young, though, so it’s got to be something else. Perhaps they’re trying on behalf of my parents, as I’ve handled their Medicare in the past. But the paranoid part of me worries that the Trump people are about to unleash a massive and sophisticated propaganda outreach campaign to overwhelm impeachment and render it impotent.
So, with this development, are we now allowed and encouraged to point and laugh at the morons who bring up the dreaded “Crowdstrike” conspiracy theory?
In the eyes of Republican operatives, Crowdstrike are just like them, soulless mercenaries ready to work for whatever oligarchs will pay them. Nobody responsible for anything. It’s all just bidness.
