LOL…for all the daily affirmation going on at Faux News that “Pelosi’s delaying gambit failed and she has now played right into McConnell’s hands…win to McConnell”, there sure is a lot of news coming out suggesting it’s starting to bear some seriously juicy fruit both directly (word that some GOPers may be caving on witnesses) and indirectly (this Parnas treasure trove).

I was glad to see Josh take - “What’s his angle?” I’d wondered when this stuff started to break.

Is he too clever by half? All this juice helps the Dems - hurts tRump et al - but, congress isn’t likely to toss him a bone. There’s something else going on methinks. Something being played in plain site. He’s sending a message “I’ve got all this stuf… AND MORE!!!” Ordinarily I’d say angling for a pardon - but he’s too far gone at this point. Is he angling for ‘safety’? Hurt me, and the rest comes out?

What she means is this:
HOUSE: Here are the impeachment articles, based on all the information available to us, since you Russ-publicans wouldn’t let us have all the info we wanted.

RUSS-PUBLICAN SENATORS: But you did an incomplete job!

HOUSE: Right, because you obstructed justice and wouldn’t let us talk to many people we wanted to talk to.

RUSS-PUBLICANS: Well, we can only try this thing on the evidence you sent us.

HOUSE: But now we’ve learned more - no thanks to you - and if you allow all the witnesses this trial deserves we’ll learn tons more yet.

Yeah. Worth noting that Clinton had to give a SOTU while his impeachment was ongoing and that Faux News is spinning all this as Trump “going about the business of the country like Clinton did, which is brilliant strategy, all while the Dems fail at impeaching him”, but yeah, that ignores the real differences in the two men and the two situations. This impeachment shit is a gaping psychic wound for Trump’s narcissism. There is absolutely no way he can handle a SOTU with the calm, articulate aplomb of Bubba Clinton if the trial is still ongoing. He’ll cancel/postpone.

The Dems need to get their shit together on messaging that situation. Here’s how it should go:

Sen. Collins: “The Parnas documents show House ‘did an incomplete job”

Dems: “What you mean is, they help prove Trump obstructed Congress and you admit that’s what he did.”

Repeat. Ad nauseum. Yell it over them. Yell it over reporters. Never stop saying it. Go on the air and say it over and over and over again that THE GOP IS ADMITTING TRUMP OBSTRUCTED CONGRESS by arguing that the House did an “incomplete job” (or whatever variant of that they spew). and they know that the truth will damn him AND THEMSELVES if they seek it. say it no matter how it is responded to or whatever counterarguments or nuance are attempted to dull its edge. It doesn’t have to be 100% accurate to be effective. The GOP is admitting to one of the Articles of Impeachment. Period.
