The House committees leading the impeachment probe into President Trump’s Ukraine pressure campaign released transcripts from their closed door interviews of former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch and Michael McKinley, another former top State Department official.
I think Mark Meadows is right inasmuch as the Ds will control the news cycles for a long while. He can complain that that is ¨unfair¨ until the cows come home, but elections have consequences.
I enjoyed this bit of Yovanovitch’s testimony (emphasis added):
Well, I mean, he basically said, and went into some detail, that there were two individuals from Florida, Mr. Parnas and Mr. Fruman, who were working with Mayor Giuliani, and that they had set up the meetings for Mr. Giuliani with Mr. Lutsenko. And that they were interested in having a different ambassador at post, I guess for—because they wanted to have business dealings in Ukraine, or additional business dealings. I didn’t understand that because nobody at the embassy had ever met those two individuals. And, you know, one of the biggest jobs of an American ambassador of the U.S. Embassy is to promote U.S. business. So, of course, if legitimate business comes to us, you know, that’s what we do, we promote U.S. business.
“I have here in my hand a list of 205—a list of names that were made known to the Secretary of State as being members of the Communist Party and who nevertheless are still working and shaping policy in the State Department.”
This is moving very quickly. I only hope Trump’s taxes are released before the impeachment vote. Adding all of his financial misdeeds to his foreign policy misdeeds will put a very thick icing on his impeachment cake. I can just see all of the Republican Senators trying to defend money laundering along with everything else Trump is accused of.
May I suggest a book for you to read. I know you don’t read much, but this is at your reading and comprehension level and it might make you feel better about things (not that I really want you to feel better; I’m actually enjoying the thought of you suffering in your own demented mind).
