House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) joined several members of her caucus in calling for Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) to take action against Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) following the GOP congressman’s tweet depicting violence against Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and President Biden.
Censure would be a good start.
Censure should be a given. This should be reason enough for expulsion since it was sent from his official site. If I had done something similar using my work account I’d have been escorted from the building with no return possible.
McCarthy: “Let’s see … what kind of award or honor can I bestow?”
“And how can we get Gosar’s family to shut up?”
Remind me of that time a censure had any impact at all, ever. I mean, ok, it pulls everybody out of their committee work (including the jan 6 select committee) for a pointless gesture floor vote, so that’s an impact, I guess, but has there ever been an instance of a critter losing their next election due to a censure? It’s the ultimate empty gesture when noisy people demand that congress “do something”.
With regard to Bad Faith, McCarthy tops McConnell.
Don’t hang by the neck waiting for McQarthy to do anything.
McQ is plenty happy with the way things are going and he’s leading the charge farther right to outright insanity and unmedicated schizophrenia that is the GQP.
Nothing more will happen. Promise.

McCarthy has other things he can be doing to Help…like testifying to Congress under oath.

It sure seems as if Gosar is suffering from some degenerative neurological condition - a condition that can affect memory, cognitive ability and behavior. Yet we don’t see our intrepid news media pursuing this question nor the House leadership addressing it. If Gosar has some health issue that is affecting his behavior, don’t his constituents and colleagues have a right to know?
How about the Donald J Trump award for completely dishonoring the Republican party.
