House Democrats from both sides of the political spectrum are finding it hard to contain their annoyance at their 10 colleagues threatening to topple President Joe Biden’s entire agenda — for no real reason.
Would the GOP secretly offer the 9, weak candidates in 22 in return for this. I’m very concerned that a deal has been made that perhaps even Dem leadership is unaware of. Far fetched? Yes, but these are far fetched times.
Just make sure you continue to correctly report on it by not mentioning the names of these 10 assholes. They all want the attention Manchin and Sinema have been given and the only thing they should get is (1) dared to vote no and (2) told behind closed doors that if they do, they are 100% finished, will be primaried and will never get another Dem dollar ever again.
I’m not worried about a single one of them. Remember how deftly Pelosi bought off every potential challenger when she took back the gavel after 2018. She knows how to apply the right amount of lollipop or belt as needed.
Certainly hope so. She’s certainly a master at it, but that doesn’t mean it always works, and as was accurately pointed out, they may have competing “offers.”
Mad respect for @ralph_vonholst, but I just think the worries are overrated.
Unless they’re prepared to switch parties, there’s no amount of carrot that the republicans can offer that can outweigh Pelosi’s stick of being able to destroy them in primaries, withholding all money from them and throwing support to competitors, things like that.
Okay, but what if they’re very popular in their red-to-purple districts because they do stuff like this? How do you think primarying them would work out in that case?
The way the press is bending over backwards to avoid discussing what possible reason they could have to be doing this, and the MoC’s pissed off about them are likewise biting their tongues to avoid saying it makes it perfectly clear to me that these assholes are planning to screw the party: force a vote on the Bipartisan Bill of Bipartisany Goodness and then engage in deficit fearmongering ratfuckery when the reconciliation bill comes up for a vote to gut it.
