House Dem Report: It’s Official, Jim Jordan’s GOP ‘Weaponization’ Panel Is A Sham

Hutchinson’s original attorney was Stefan Passantino, replaced by Jody Hunt when she decided to come clean. Binnall is a clown Trump has hired on several occasions, notably the failed effort to keep the National Archives from giving documents to the J6C. He’s the falafel shop lawyer because his office is immediately above the Pita House restaurant in Alexandria, shown below. That’s his firm logo hanging off the facade of the second floor

Witnesses don’t meet the legal definition of a whistleblower

Per the report: “Federal law only protects FBI employees from retaliation when making claims that they ‘reasonably believe’ provide evidence of ‘(A) any violation of any law, rule, or regulation; or (B) gross mismanagement, a gross waste of funds, an abuse of authority, or a substantial and specific danger to public health or safety.’ None of the three witnesses interviewed to date comes close to meeting that definition.

None of the witnesses have provided evidence related to a violation of law, policy, or abuse of authority.”

Burying the lede. This is the one thing that actually matters

Wow. Jordan and his Jordanaires can’t seem to wrestle us up a tasty FBI scandal.

They give us nothing.

Damn it, Gym! Perform for us! Put on a show!

Shake your fist. Shout!

Surprising no-one, these incompetent fools can’t even win at Calvinball, where they can make up and change the rules as they wish. Proves once again that the goops can make a lot of unwanted noise, but can’t govern.

Or thought that screwing up a historically unprecedented raid on an ex-POTUS would be a severely career-limiting move.

Also, can I just say how utterly fantastic I think it is to see the House Dems so actively and effectively pushing back against Jordan’s bogus grievance committee?

Richard Stengel just told Nicole Wallace that we should all refer to this committee as “the Jordan Committee.” Excellent idea.

Still On The Move…

what they call “woke” retirement plan investing for Americans

Republican voters:

Obviously your politicians have no intention of stopping until they come after everything you do and think. Unless you’ve suddenly taken to trusting government, I recommend you stick with your core values and tell your politicians to stop being tv clowns and do their jobs.

Do you really think “woke insurance agencies” is off the hook? Or woke nurses stations, or woke pet stores, or grocery stores, libraries, dentist offices, tarot readers…? Who isn’t going to have a “wokeness check”?

Maybe it’ll be done by the same people who run Republican Death Panels.

Virginia’s (where Binnall is licensed to practice law) Rules of Professional Conduct

Conflict of Interest: Prohibited Transactions

Rule 1.8(f)

  • (f) A lawyer shall not accept compensation for representing a client from one other than the client unless:
    • (1) the client consents after consultation;
    • (2) there is no interference with the lawyer’s independence of professional judgment or with the client-lawyer relationship; and
    • (3) information relating to representation of a client is protected as required by Rule 1.6.

Candor Toward The Tribunal

Rule 3.3(a)

  • (a) A lawyer shall not knowingly:
    • (1) make a false statement of fact or law to a tribunal;

In theory, at least, this means that Binnall isn’t being paid to represent O’Boyle Whether it actually means that Binnall receives enough compensation from some other client that he doesn’t need to charge O’Boyle is a different question. At the end of the day the appropriate ethical question is, “Does Binnall put the interests of O’Boyle ahead of all others in his representation?”

More than 2 years ago, here, I advanced an educated guess that Patel was likely a key piece in the coup plotting, as chief of staff for trumps secdef who was appointed soon after election day. I’m amazed the extent to which he has skated and continues to skate, but maybe he’s working the fbi refs hard and effectively from the inside.
