The House’s COVID-19 response subcommittee, chaired by Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-SC), sent Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Alex Azar and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) chief Robert Redfield information requests on Monday. The move comes in response to growing reports that the HHS’ top brass tampered scientific reports on COVID-19, including the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Reports (MMWR), for President Donald Trump’s political benefit.
”…reports of various senior HHS staffers suppressing or altering the CDC’s scientific data and guidelines to give cover to Trump…”
Anyone shown to have suppressed or altered CDC scientific data needs to be charged and prosecuted to the full extent of the law, including (but not limited to) homicide and crimes against humanity.
The fumigation required post-Trump is gonna make Germany’s post-War denazification efforts pale in comparison.
If I’m remembering correctly Caputo wasn’t always the “public affairs” person, or even at CDC or HHS spokesperson when this all started. I thought I read the he was moved over there recently, as in when the hospitals were told to stop sending their info to the CDC?
It’s hard to keep up with who said what when, when Trump moves people around faster than a 3 card monte hustler.
Joe was also talking about how wildfires and hurricanes and other devastating events caused by climate change are what is truly destroying the suburbs - and other parts of the country.
Caputo and the other political appointees are just doing their jobs. After all, reelecting Trump is much more important than the lives of you, your children, spouse, significant other, parents, siblings, friends and other loved ones. That’s just a scientific fact.
Man, the roach problem in the White House is completely off the scale. Not only does every day bring a new outrage, but it shines more light into dark corners and the parasites who have embedded themselves there start to rustle around and eventually scurry to the next closest dark corner.
Every time you hear an interview with someone who embezzled millions, it always started with that first over the line theft that was just going to be temporary and quickly paid back. How many Republicans are telling themselves that they know Trump is excessive but it is worth it for the judges and the tax cuts? How many are allowing themselves to realize what is happening every day right in front of their eyes? How amazingly few have the guts to speak out and take a stand? As Q-Anon and FOX and Russian social media propaganda drag a third of the country into mental illness, how many are more than happy to ride the wave?
Here is what I cling to - I know three people who voted Trump in 2016 who say they will never make that mistake again. I don’t know anyone who didn’t vote for Trump who has changed their mind in his favor. None. He knows this and instead of trying to widen his base he is trying to drill down so that every single insane vote comes his way. He is hoping that plus legally sanctioned voter suppression will snag the EC for him again.
