CBP has probably the highest concentration of Trumpanzees in the all of the Federal Government. I honestly do not doubt the agents involved did this on purpose with the intended effect of embarrassing the current administration. Getting to beat dark skinned immigrants with a whip was surely an added bonus for them.

The situation with the Haitian refugees is what America gets when the lawless and discompassionate GQP forces are in charge.
The agents did this because they were certain they would get away with it. Abbott isn’t going to do anything to these agents and they are under his bidding. The Feds could try to intervene, but I am not convinced anything will come of the investigation.
Again: they did it because they can, without fear of reprisal or repercussion.
They represent the new America if we don’t stop them at the ballot box for a generation or two.

We had a Comprehensive Immigration Bill passed by Harry Reid’s Senate and John Boehner’s House blew it up.
And the first word out of the loathsome Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign was “Immigration”.

They look exactly, exactly, like slavehunters from two centuries ago. There has obviously been a management culture in these agencies that is congenial to thugs who want to brutalize these immigrants. And I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t treat Norwegians this way. And unfortunately Biden didn’t make the mess but he’s got to clean it up without tripling the volume of bullshit from Don. Jr. and all the rest of the punks about the “crisis” at the border with people “pouring in” and all that.
