Horowitz Hints That IGs Are Discussing Potential Probes Of Trump-Ukraine Mess | Talking Points Memo

I didn’t get (and haven’t found a link to) the legislation mentioned, bit multiple Dem Senators referenced it during Horowitz’s testimony. Mazie Hirono for sure. I was surprised that Harris didn’t hear it and change the way she asked her questions.

I am always uncomfortable with a prosecutor as president. Not sure why, but it doesn’t seem to fit the bill. So, while I admire Harris, I couldn’t really get behind her for Pres for that reason. That said, she would be an awesome AG.

Which falls under “High Crimes and Misdemeanors” as well as “abuse of power vested in the President by the nation” for purposes of removal from office.

If the House decides to list all the substantially impeachable acts (i.e. not just policy differences where the Executive branch was within the Constitution and relevant laws) committed by Trump or under his orders, then there will be a very long list of different events and different broken laws. Many of them are backed up by Cohen’s or Gates’ records, so the NYS tax records and the ordered-not-to-show-up Executive officials aren’t really needed now. Those will be needed after removal (either Senate conviction or election loss, let us hope), for criminal trials which by then may still be fighting over subpoena enforcement and document production and executive absounlimitedlute privilege.

I think she was the first, or among the first, elected official to endorse Obama for president.

She is in a good place in the Senate. We need her there.

We’re going to need more inspectors general. We might need to dip into the ranks of the inspectors captain, but that’s okay.

I didn’t know until today that the IG can investigate Barr.
Next is how do we get him to do that?
That just might take the lead out of Barr’s pencil.

As disappointed as I am about the end of her campaign, I’m still mighty proud of my junior Senator.

Give ‘em Hell, Kamela!

Does anyone else think that DoJ IG being barred by law from investigating DoJ lawyers is ducked up?

Is there any rational reason for this singular prohibition?

Well, the Shrub badministration loaded up the DoJ with Liberty and Regent grads in career positions as it was leaving. Wouldn’t want the IG looking into their competence, now would we.

I think Barr is more dangerous than Trump.

Barr is Opus Dei. Their zealotry empowers him to perpetrate ANY act with impunity, no matter how brazen, as “God’s Work”:

Our professional work can indeed be God’s work, operatio Dei, because we are adopted children of God and we are all identified with Christ.

Moxie indeed! Why I’d love to see her as AG in the next administration…

And she’s clearly a top choice for VP among many candidates still in the race.

But the Senate Judiciary Comm. can bring him in for questioning if they’re not too busy with Impeachment.

Thought it was an excellent and informative exchange. Both were on point, as to the rigged investigative restrictions and how it thwarts the truth and Pampers the collusion between the ex branch and true justice.

Truth will out…

I suspect he is gathering details on the Ghouliani mess and Barr’s involvement as well. In fact, I also believe that when we get control of the Senate and Presidency, after say January 3, 2021 the new Democratic team will pass legislation, in a lightning bolt way, to allow the already pending investigation to be brought to the fore and charges leveled against Barr, Ghouliani and many more like the NYC-based FBI cretins.

While I certainly am implying the former, the latter is a bit too attenuated to make the legal argument I think (altho it certainly fits the in the colloquial sense of witness intimidation).
