A lot depends on what access the checkers have to Solomon’s email and messaging records, and how many times he was stupid enough to use his work accounts while doing paid business for others.
Sweet. Do some “corrections” now that the columns have been out and propagated wildly through the fever swamps for literally years. The damage has been done. The Hill can’t take it back any more than real science can take back that bogus paper that the anti-vaxxers keep waving around, and will keep waving, until we’re all dead of preventable childhood diseases.

EDITOR’S NOTE: We have known for some time that everything John Solomon writes is complete bullshit. When it became apparent that he had a wire basket on his door where any right wing nut could drop any crap for publication in our newspaper, we moved John to the opinion pages. It now occurs to us that some of Mr. Solomon’s bullshit can come back to bite us in the ass. We are thus taking the additional action to add this note to many of the columns published under his byline. We will continue to uphold the highest standards of right wing journalism.
Just another reason to avoid The Hill. Never liked Mr. Solomon and considered The Hill just a little too quick to bow to ‘other side’ journalism in this way. Now they’re trying to correct their mistake…puhleeze…this fellow was known to be fringe when you let use your platform to spread his questionable ideas!
Damage control? How about reputation control, legal exposure control–survival as a business control? What Thiel did to Gawker Dems should do to The Hill for its knowingly allowing an obvious liar and propagandist to post his pro-Trump shilling on its site. Its staff will find other, better jobs.
This took far too long for them to do. Solomon’s job as one of the main channels to push GOP conspiracy theories into the mainstream was evident a long time ago, at least if not before the Uranium One conspiracy. That it took The Hill this long to recognize that anything he wrote or published under their name (lets not forget he used to be the VP of Digital at The Hill, not just an Opinion writer) is subject to factual review tells me the rot at The Hill wasn’t just isolated to Solomon.
You can balance too much vinegar with sugar. Too much water with a bit more flour but if you add too much salt you’re screwed. There’s no balance for that. Same for bullshit. You can’t balance it with any amount of truth. You have to start over sans the bullshit. Hopefully the Hill will get that. There’s no place for bullshit in a publication that fronts itself as a seeker of the truth.
Solomon has always been full of shit so there’s no excuse there.
