Hice Says He Shouldn’t Be Forced To Testify In Fulton County DA Probe

Except the very next line in the story is:

  • But Graham may still challenge the subpoena in court, a court filing showed.

So mayhaps what they’re doing is setting it up so that a Reactionary judge can rule that it’s all “Speech and Debate Clause” so nope.

Hope I’m wrong, but we’ll see…

ETA: I see @occamscoin got there frist…

He could be in trouble though if he was part of the planning to put fake electors into the Federal archives though. Specifically, in this case, if he was directly involved or took any action to cover his tracks for that. Further, there are civil and criminal liabilities that Hice may well be subject to if he crossed any number of lines leading up to and after Jan 6, 2021.

They may be on the way to having their prayers answered.

While I fully respect everyone’s right to not incriminate themselves, I think, at least on this issue, we need to follow the words of their fearless leader, Fat Donny -

“You see the mob takes the Fifth. If you’re innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?”

The motion to quash states that the D.A.'s office has expressly stated, in writing, that the fake electors are now targets of the investigation.

I was just going to suggest that both Hice and his lawyer are acting as if he is being accused of a crime for which everyone knows he’s guilty of committing.

So witnessing a crime and then refusing to appear before a grand jury subpoena about what you witnessed about said crime, is ok as long as it is the right kind of crime?

Thank you, was on my phone earlier so couldn’t search the doc.

So Fulton County GA election offices and GA Secretary of States offices (generally) are now “events occurring at a Congressional subcommittee hearing”…?

Is Hice one of the members of Congress who asked Dotard for a pardon?

His name was not mentioned by the jan 6th committee among those seeking pardons.

Did Mike Gravel go to prison? No, Mike Gravel did not go to prison.

Assumes facts not in evidence.

How so?

This is the Fulton County DA investigating attempted meddling in the Fulton County elections.

And Hice has not been reported to have done any Fulton County meddling himself. So far as we know, all he’s done was help plan and carry out the electoral vote objections on J6. Which is certainly relevant to whatever crimes the DA is investigating, even if it’s not a crime by itself.

“Simply put, Congressman Hice…blah, blah, blah…"

Every time I see the phrase “simply put” I know what follows is a lie.

drives me nuts when people use the cliche “Honestly, …” or “Frankly, …”. Makes me want to interrupt and ask if everything said up to now was a bald-faced lie.

Which neither myself or anyone else is claiming he did. In fact I re-iterated that it is my understanding that targets of a grand jury are typically not subpoenaed to appear before the GJ yesterday.

However I also stated in this thread “and GA Secretary of States offices (generally)” to underscore that he is a potential witness to said possible crimes, hence why the Futon County DA and Grand Jury are seeking his testimony.
