If House Oversight Committee Democrats were hoping for colorful quotes and angry fodder with which to investigate the Trump administration’s response to the novel coronavirus, they didn’t get them Tuesday.
It’s almost like someone learned that sticking your neck out in the hopes that Congress will do something to stem the tide of corruption emanating from the White House is a fool’s errand.
Glenn fine will be appointed again as inspector general in the Biden administration. These folks need to start looking at the future, trump only has 7 more months, and a politically motivated dismissal, with a personal lawsuit vs trump, and then getting reappointed, is a good career move. Better than boot licking.
If you’re not willing to tell it like it is and lose your job for blowing the whistle or saying something true that might get you fired, then you don’t belong in an IG’s office in the first place.
She comes across as trying to save her career rather than saving thousands of lives.
I agree with this. In fact, I think Biden’s camp needs to quietly tell EVERYBODY in the Trump administration that they should obey the Constitution and respect Congressional Oversight, or prepare to lawyer up and get their personal affairs in order because they can expect justice will be done in the Biden Administration. As a minimum they should NOT expect any support from the Executive Branch with regard to a Democratic Congress’s oversight activities, including defying Contempt of Congress citations. That process may well include extended stays in the “Big House” for any number of Trump political appointees.
