Trump acolyte Michael Caputo, now a spokesperson for the Department of Health and Human Services, yelled at journalists Wednesday for their coverage of the administration’s ending support for 13 coronavirus testing sites around the country.
Well, you are closing the sites, asshole, so stick it where the sun don’t shine.
Any bets they announce that these sites aren’t being closed, they never intended to close them, and any reports that said they were being closed are fake news.
Name calling and yelling fake news is actually Trump speak for withdrawing a trial balloon that has gone bust.
“Somebody has given you disinformation,” he added, per CNBC. “Do you understand? I’m old enough to remember it was considered dishonest to undermine public confidence in the public health system.”
Umm, has Michael Caputo met the President of the United States? Or even listened to the Donald during his COVID-19 supposed press briefings.
Who the fuck thought giving this guy as spokesperson for HHS while we’re in an escalating pandemic needs to be fired. Caputo started this gig in April.

Says the guy whose boss is holding indoor campaign rallies in the middle of a deadly global pandemic.
Maybe Donald should bring Caputo on as his warm up act for these rallies?

The reports of irony’s death have been greatly exaggerated.
Jesus, a skilled spokesperson should know how to navigate difficult waters. The one thing you DON’T want to do is appear to lose control of the narrative.
And that’s exactly what Caputo did, apparently. These loons are so easily knocked from their perch. Weak. Stupid. And in over their heads.
Irony is just on a ventilator.
“The reason why we put this call together so quickly and why we have upwards of 75 reporters on this call is because you’ve been spun up,” he said, according to CNBC (TPM was not on the call.)

Or, “We just wanted to ridicule the news media by putting out disinformation, and they fell for it!”
You know, like Trump making jokes about Americans dying.

That was your mistake right there. You assumed any spokesperson in the Trump administration is skilled. Being bad at your job is exactly what is expected of any official in the Trump administration.

So, I’ve never worked as a spokesman, but it seems like part of the job would be to identify the disinformation AND correct it BEFORE hanging up in a hissy fit.
It sounds like Caputo did not make a lot of sense, but did convey a sense of anger. Seems like the scandal outrage howl.
Having got to know the Benadick Donnie administration, I assume they are going with this scandal to cover up some heinous crime they are committing. Possibly that Flynn thing.
