Heckler-In-Chief: Trump Runs Amok As Biden Tries Direct Appeal To Voters | Talking Points Memo

In the first half hour of the first presidential debate of the 2020 general election, President Donald Trump hardly let former Vice President Joe Biden — or, even, moderator Chris Wallace — get a word in edgewise.

Complete disaster all around. I quit watching after 15 minutes.

I’m all in for Biden, but there is no reason to watch this train wreck.

Prediction - either Chis Wallace gets royally skewered for letting this go nuts ( to be fair it was an near impossible task) or Trump takes a beating for being a raging ass … Biden’s probably safe from any downside …

My guess is that the poll about “who won this debate” will go to Trump simply because they only poll people who watched the whole thing and most sane people couldn’t sit through all of this.

Trump is really, really manic tonight.

I told you he would be whacked out of his skull.

“Biden’s probably safe from any downside …”

Hardly. I watched 45 minutes of this until I couldn’t take it any longer. Biden looked flummoxed. He looked weak. Yes Trump was a pure asshole, but he made his points and told his lies. Biden acted like he needed a nap, not like a president. Is this how a security council meeting would take place?
The Dems have forced us into another candidate that seems safe, but where is the fire when it’s needed?

I can’t watch
I’ll drink the post mortem cold from the saucer of MSNBC

Donnie simply lacks the temperament and self-discipline to behave civilly and conduct himself appropriately in a debate format.

With trump this out of control I can/t help but wish Elizabeth Warren were on the other side to put him in his place a la Mike Bloomberg.

I thought Biden looked good. Especially for dealing with a schoolyard bully.

Thanks, for the talking points Comrade Bullshit.

Hmm… Choice is between a geriatric asshole who’s beyond halfway into Alzheimers and gives fuckall about anyone but himself and a “sleepy guy…”

That’s a tough one, right?

Ultimately it depends on how you judge the process … having watched debates since Kennedy v Nixon … I have to admit my bias against this relentless asshole argumentative jamming signal rich housewives of NY approach to debate is repulsive… but in today’s world of reality TV … maybe some people will like it and like Trump …
I was a PoliSci major in college … I believe in the process … I think this stuff should have a modicum of dignity … we are picking who gets to start wars … my view is that Trump has utterly disqualified himself.
But … just my view … I shall now go and yell at kids to get off my lawn.

I listened for the first 7 minutes, then I heard talking-over-each-other, and decided F-this. Chris Wallace and who ever put this shit-fest on needs to be fired. This was not about Americans or anyone else. What an F-N mess.

Trump believes, as do all angry white males, that shouting and interrupting are the way to win an argument and there is no difference between an argument and a debate. His minions will claim he won, because he “dominated the battle space”.

Those who believe he is an unpresidential horse’s ass will not be swayed. Those who find him a frighteningly incompetent horse’s ass will not be swayed. Those who find him a festering racist horse’s ass will not be swayed. Never-Trumper horse’s asses will not be swayed. If all he’s got is a shout-out to white supremacists, those who are uncomfortable with siding with white supremacists will not be swayed. I don’t even think his coke dealer will be swayed.
