Despite his central role in the Trump administration, Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought had not appeared before Congress to answer questions since last June. That changed this week. And members of Congress had a lot of them. Pressed by senators Thursday on the Trump administration’s efforts to undermine Congress and its constitutional…

He just lied to Congress, which is illegal. Will he even be charged with Contempt of Congress or Perjury? Doubtful. Because there are no consequences for this administration.

I won’t hold my breath waiting for Congress to hold anyone’s feet to the fire.

Every time with the Trump team, I hear “he broke the law” and that’s it. CHARGE HIM. ARREST HIM. There is no law I can break where everyone says “oh well.” I get in trouble. DUNK VOUGHT IN TROUBLE. Perjury. Theft of funds. Obstruction. Sabotage and conspiracy. Whatever charge you can apply. Democrats I am begging you, do not go to the press to accuse someone of breaking the law. Go to the #@$ police.

Hey, nothing wrong with ol’ Russ, as he illustrates with this wisdom from one of his speeches.

“The stark reality in America is that we are in the late stages of a complete Marxist takeover of the country. Our adversaries already hold the weapons of the government apparatus, and they have aimed it at us. And they are going to continue to aim it until they no longer have to win elections. God put us here for such a time as this."

Please, please, please don’t post extremist comments like this.

Show some moderation!

Maybe wish him a debilitating stroke.

Or an incurable-and-horrifically-painful sphincter infection.

Perhaps penile leprosy.

Something like that.

Like with W Bush, the incompetence of the Trump administration, in spite of all their other advantages, will save democracy.

The question is, once in power, will we see a repeat of “we are forward looking and not backward looking” and Merit Garland or will we finally make Republicans pay a price for their crimes, lies and incompetence?

This guy is nuttier than squirrel shit. When he first showed up a year plus go, I noted an uncanny (to me) resemblance to Frank Gaffney. I’m beginning think Ol’ Frankie is just a fella with a few quaint notions about Mooslims. This mook, on the other hand, is a lying zealot who I wouldn’t trust to put out some kibble for my cat if I wasn’t around for a couple of days.

I hope not on the first, and I hope so on the second.

No Garland. No Holder. Looking forward is impotent. Cleaning up the authors of the shit show is just as important.

Definitely not right… but you can’t blame the guy for stonewalling. Recent history has proven NOTHING will be done to him or anyone else in the Administration

Of course he and the president impounded money, lots of it. If by any chance there was any merit to his claim that he was evaluating whether the money was going to be well spent, he should be moving now to release the money. But of course he is not.

Russell Vought is a Marxist? I had no idea.

Awesome how ol’ Chuck Courageously Bucked His Own Party to communicate which specific appropriations law Trump needs to comply with to get Grassley off his back. The kind of courage and character we’ve come to expect from him.

Okay, I’ll take sphincter infection for 5, irasdad. But I really was thinking more in terms of fully loaded porta potties (headed back to the yard) falling off the sanitation truck and striking Trump’s motorcade with dramatic but not deadly consequences.

“If Congress had appropriated money for housing on Mars, my belief is your job is to administer, not make that judgment. It is our job to make the judgment. It is our job to fight back and forth and then legislate,” Warner said in response to Vought.

“You’re not a legislator.”

“Hell, you’re not even a good administrator.”
