Hawley Has The Nerve To Accuse Dems Of Trying To ‘Overturn’ Past Elections With SCOTUS Bill | Talking Points Memo

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO), who exerted an all out effort to overturn former President Donald Trump’s loss in the 2020 presidential election, accused Democrats seeking to expand the Supreme Court on Thursday of waging an attack on democracy.

“It’s a terrible idea,” Hawley told the Senate press pool. “It is a deliberate attempt to fundamentally change a core institution of American government and effectively to overturn the results of past elections.”

Great, I guess now Thomas Dewey will be replacing Biden.

13 federal judicial circuits?

13 Supreme Court Justices seems to make perfect sense to me.

Or is that too much like equal representation for the GQP?

I read a piece recently that mapped out how the more unhinged these assholes are, the more money they raise. Sadly, it’s a winning formula and it will continue until the perpetrators are punished by voters.

Sadder still, I don’t see that happening in the short term.

As some sage once wisely said: “You’ll never go broke betting on the stupidity of [some] American voters.”

Don’t get mad at Hawley. It’s what he wants. Laugh at him instead. He doesn’t take that well.

Hawley needs to resign, but he’d need to have a soul first. I bet he is great friends with Cruz.

It appears he’s trying to give even more credence to that charge.

Such an opportunist.

What did he say when McConnell refused to let Merrick Garland’s nominations go forward?

Fuck off, Senator Hitler Youth.

That is all.

First, everyone hates Ted Cruz. Second, both are positioning themselves to be presidential contenders and in GOP world, that consists of a Highlander-type battle to the political death. So it seems unlikely they would be “friends.”

“…pack the Court, pack the Senate, and take over federal elections.”

You say this like it’s a bad thing.

Given all the effort republicans have made to pack the court, pack the senate and take over federal elections, you can see why they may be troubled by a different parties efforts to do the same…
