A lot of things happened. Here are some of the things. This is TPM’s Morning Memo.
During their debate last night, Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-NH) accused GOP rival and election denier Don Bolduc of fueling Trump’s election lies–and it’s unclear why he apparently thought he could avoid that charge after declaring in August that he stood by his claim that Trump won the 2020 election and that the GOP nominee was “not switching horses, baby.”
The worst possible person bought the worst* SNS platform at the worst possible time! But, have a nice weekend!

ETA: however, I hope Mr. Musk does let Mr. Trump back on. The former POTUS would not be able to resist interjecting himself into the midterms.
Every D’s response to their election denying opponent should be, “If they can’t face reality about the election, then how can they face the real tough choices that come with the job.”
Of course we know they can’t face those decisions either because Mitch and Qevin will decide for them.
Saw Lloyd Austin’s presser about the National Defense Strategy yesterday. What was interesting was his statement concerning being as prepared as possible for any situation. This coincided with my observation that the Ukrainian conflict was an excellent “laboratory” for assessing the efficacy of our weapons systems.
Furthermore it explains China’s reluctance to involve their weapons in the conflict, leaving Russia to rely on Noko and Iran.
Twitter is going to descend into a Parlor/Gab/4-Chan Lite arena. If you’re going to be flatly for full on, unfettered defense of the First Amendment you can’t moderate yourself into “Well, we sort of are for free speech, but with limits”. Endless fights of where to draw the line, allegations of favoritism or selective moderation and a litany of other disputes will abound. Musk will just turn everyone loose. And all this BS about advertisers fleeing won’t come to pass, revenue is revenue and they want it. One or two may pull out, but in the main no one is leaving because a few bigots go rogue on Jews and blacks and teh gays.
Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) sent a letter to the Ukrainian and Russian embassies in D.C. on Wednesday inviting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian leader Vladimir Putin to Phoenix, Arizona to “engage in peace talks.”
