Sen. Kamala Harris’ (D-CA) travel has been put on hold until Sunday after two people involved in Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s campaign tested positive on Wednesday night.
It’s good that we are learning this from the campaign itself (apparently). They just need to continue being transparent and cautious, in contrast to the other side. I was really happy that Kamala stayed out of the Senate hearing room.
You get the impression from the statement about this, along with everything they’ve done so far, that they’ve got a systematic approach to keeping everyone as safe as possible. I think it’s actually helping them, visibly getting stuff done in the new, adaptive way the situation demands. Realism and competence. It’s always the right thing, and in this cycle it’s a message too.
Except they are both pretty important members of the staff, firing them is too good for them. I don’t wish ill on anyone, but this was a pretty stupid thing to do this close to a crucial election.
Maybe, but it could also be a family gathering, a picnic with friends, almost anything. The important thing is that the two people followed the protocol to report the activities, and were tested as a result. That’s a good sign that everyone in THIS campaign anyway is following the rules.
Still - with less than a month out, I’m sorry, but they should be living in a bubble as much as possible. There’s too much riding on this. 4 November, everyone can go visit whomever they please, but this is a blackout period where no one should be going anywhere on either of these two campaigns.
It’s not like it’s June and we’re asking for months. We’re under three weeks. C’mon, man…
