Disgusting behaviour…as usual…

The Second Amendment clearly states the right to a " well regulated militia " but the " well regulated " aspect always gets skipped over. I would suggest that what is needed is a debate on just what well regulated means. But it would seem on the face of things to include actual regulations…

Even Plastic Man would be jealous of that reach.

" Sen. Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) told CNN the day after the Boulder attack that those massacres are “used” as “an excuse to further erode Second Amendment rights.”

“I now believe that their ultimate goal is to abolish our rights,” she said."

So John Kennedy of Louisiana says, “But I think what a lot of people on my side are saying is we ought not to get rid of all the sober drivers.” As VP Harris says, no one is suggesting that, only that we apply equivalent common sense regulations for gun ownership to those associated with driving an automobile. I own multiple handguns and the background check for the last one took 10 minutes. I hardly felt this was a threat to my second amendment rights. I fact, like most responsible gun owners, I want more thorough background checks (personally I would prefer required educations and licensing, but that’s not going to happen any time soon).

Tax ammo at $100 per round. Problem solved.

Nice to see some Harris postings here. Seems like the only thing I see about her is standing in the shadows behind Biden in photos. Maybe this is the cause she’ll get to carry.
And, on the subject of weapons of mass destruction, these fucking guns only purpose is to kill people and they need to be banned. When buying one of these in a gun shop, do the shops ever, ever ask what is the purpose of your purchase today?
After these mass shootings and guns are traced back to shops, put a $10,000 fine on the shops for supplying these weapons and I’m pretty sure when they sell in the future they’ll be a little more careful.

Fear-mongering. It’s all the GQP has left.

C’mon, really? Thanks to Republicans “second amendment rights” (many not to be found in the actual second amendment) have expanded beyond all reason. You can arm yourself with military weaponry, band together, and walk into a state capitol while the legislature is in session. Ridiculous. Abominable. Sad.

I own a gun.
I am a law abiding citizen.
Because of the 2nd the government cannot take my gun.
My 2nd is satisfied.

Their response is always, “Let’s enforce the laws already on the books.” Which laws on the books would have stopped this and other massacres? All the perps who survive face multiple murder charges leading to life without parole or death, yet that doesn’t seem to stop them…

Cold blooded killer Byron Smith just lost his final appeal:

Byron Smith, 72, was convicted in 2014 of four counts of murder for killing cousins Nicholas Brady, 17, and Haile Kifer, 18, on Thanksgiving 2012.

Prosecutors argued that Smith, whose home had previously been burglarized, sat armed and waiting in his basement and coldly executed Kifer and Brady as they descended his stairs about 10 minutes apart, continuing to fire after they no longer posed a threat.

Smith claimed he was defending himself and was fearful after having guns stolen in prior burglaries.

The case drew national attention amid debate over how far a homeowner can go to defend himself and his property.

The U.S. Supreme Court rejected his appeal on Monday.

Conservatives will really be disappointed.

Mass shootings will be with us as long as we continue to see gun ownership as a “right” .

False equivalency and hyperbole is how the Tepubs rule their donors and supporters. It’s hard to cut through that noise. I’ve come to think that the Dems really have to win big in 2022 so that some real change can happen. America needs it to keep pace with the rest of the world. I’m hoping for that.

(The Louisiana Republican apparently did not take into account the fact that the government does place many restrictions on driving, especially drunk driving.)

Restrictions like driver ed for minors, testing & licensing, insurance requirements, safety devices and lots of laws governing the operation and maintenance of a vehicle.

Please proceed, Senator [Not JFK] Kennedy.

There needs to be an infusion of money into mental health as well.

We should never expect anything different from the GQP. It didn’t matter when one of their own (Gabby Giffords) was shot at and severely injured. I’m sorry but I have no hope that anything will come of it and, even if it does, we’ll spend decades working the way through the courts which will overturn everything.

Uh oh, Black lady coming after your GUNS!! They just want to take away your guns. It’s the first step toward anarchy, tyranny, communism, fascism, atheism and Sharia law! Watch ooooouuuuutt! Did you notice she’s a woman? And Black?

And Grand Wizard Steve Scalise. I wonder had he not recovered if the GQP would have erected a martyr monument to ol’ David Duke [Lite].

Not to mention that there are police regularly looking for drunk drivers, speeders, and those very dangerous driving while Black. How many gun owners have had a police officers have set of road blocks to see if you are sane/sober enough to carry that gun on your hip?
