Don’t know if you’re being facetious, but “der Fuehrer” is correct in the nominative since the word Fuehrer (leader) is masculine. Although if you are saying “nearly killed the Fuehrer” I suppose you would use “den” for the masculine accusative.

Who does own the “Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval for Democracy”? The USA is not perfect by any means, but we do have some standards. The very idea of standards is alien to some countries, like Russia.

Harris really doesn’t get it. The voters who are going to decide this election accept that Trump is a liar, power hungry, unstable, weird or whatever. They’re concerned about the economy – their income – which was higher under Trump – and the cost of living for essentials (food, gas, rent), which were lower under Trump. Relative to the 60% of the population w/o a bachelor’s degree, i.e., the bulk of the working class, they have been waiting to hear from a Harris that gives a sense of caring about them. Without the pejoratives and even with the upper midwestern visits, Harris’ campaign is essentially a Hillary redux.
I don’t think Trump’s cult actually believes any of this. They just think the libs are lying about their hero. Again. After all, they say, the left has been screaming about fascists since Reagan was President, so what’s new? Never underestimate the willingness of people to lie to themselves.
The one thing that can make a difference here is that Kelly is not speaking anonymously now. He is out there. But to the true believers, nothing will matter. It is the fence sitters who might care.

Trump’s unfavorable ratings are about 58%. This might drive them higher. Sure, people are concerned about the economy, but that does not mean that Harris can just ignore the fact that the GOP nominee is a Hitler fan. Besides, it makes Trump look unstable. Unstable is not good for the economy.

Mr. H is born/raised in Milwaukee until he left for the Army, and I met him there in the 1990s.
Da Crusher (Reginald Lisowski) grew up in a tavern in South Milwaukee (Lisowski’s Tavern.) He could bench press 600 pounds. He was a buddy of the wrestler Dick the Bruiser, who was also a GB Packer (Guard and Tackle.) From a proud Polish family, he claimed that he ate 6# of polish sausage a day, washed down by a case of beer, peaking at a case-and-a half a day There’s a statue of him in his honor with his belt and a keg of beer on his shoulder. He died of a brain tumor at the age of 79.
Mr. H is an “ought to know” guy – Polish Family, wrestled at the age of 13, worked as a bouncer in his cousin’s tavern (in Riverwest.) But mostly spent his youth doing errands for his uncles who worked the coal delivery boats on the river, or in the winter, ice delivery. Two buckets of beer picked up at a local tavern for delivery a day, for the crew. And chasing Catholic girls.

The sad thing is most of tRump’s supporters would be perfectly find getting those ovens fired up again. It’s hard to exterminate those ideologies. The beliefs of those who supported Hitler and Hitler himself didn’t die with Hitler. They just sort of crawled/slithered back under that rock they came out from under waiting for the right time to come out again.

“Ignore,” who said that? Harris is trying to win an election, i.e., votes. To the extent that voters accept Trump’s narcissistic weirdness as a given, then other issues are what they’re listening for. Just an historical aside–Many of the German generals who slavishly supported Hitler did so not out of loyalty, but because he was secretly paying them under the table with Nazi Party funds for their support.
Trump is a danger to the Republic and he and his associates need to be removed, by whatever means necessary, to preserve the Union. Basically his followers are sheep, who without their Shepard and his herd dogs will simply mill around for a while, and then get on with their lives!
