Fox News host Sean Hannity denied the State Department ever asked him to chill his attacks on former Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch during his show on Monday evening.

As soon as the “fake news” epithet comes out of the mouth of this kind of miscreant, I tend to think that there’s good chance that the news report is, in fact the case, perhaps not precisely, but on the whole, true.

This has been true of Hannity for going on two decades. He lies more than he tells the truth. It is truly upsetting to me that such an overt and transparent liar and propagandist has ascended to such a perch. He has been so incredibly wrong about so many things for so many years, and yet he just keeps failing upward.
There’s a fine line between independent, and too slow to realize what it takes to make your buddies look a little less bad.

I never talked to anyone at the State Department about this ambassador,” he said.

The fact that Hannity’s name came up at all in the conversation between the Ambassador and her colleagues is alarming in itself, regardless of follow through.
Yes, it’s dangerous, which is why it can be upsetting.
But as you know, truth is incidental. Mobs are not sustained by truth. They feed on emotion.
