And here we have it. These astoundingly weak and dishonest prosecutions are “trial runs” for the Trump regime to go after those seeking to vote in November for non MAGA candidates. The only thing stopping that are not guilty findings and enforced injunctions against regime paramilitary forces. I suspect Democrats are preparing, since Trump isn’t subtle.

There were a bunch of guns, they did criminal property damage, and a cop got shot in nothing that resembles self-defense. The conspiracy charges against most of the defendants are pretty attenuated, but this is not, at its core, a “weak and dishonest” prosecution.

The United States is a “lawyerly state”, and the left and Democrats aren’t exploiting it as well as they might.
Look at all the lawsuits against Trump, his maladministration, and various officials and hangers-on. The lawyerly state exists to serve the rich, so these suits will be delayed, distracted, re-filed, appealed – and if they make it to the highest court, probably decided against Law and Constitution. Meanwhile, the criming has gone on, literally for years, and the damage has become irreparable.
Why not try it the other way around? Trump decrees your permits for that offshore wind farm, that big solar array, are revoked. So what’s he gonna do? Just keep building! Make HIM file the lawsuits – then delay, re-file, if necessary appeal etc. Put the delays on the side of the perp, for a change.
Oh, he can turn off the money spigot? States and munis got money. There are big donors. Meanwhile, sue to dispute the impoundment – Trump has been losing those cases. Meanwhile, progress can go on.
Well, he’s also got the military and paramililtaries of goons at his fingertips. Sure, but that’s caused massive public pushback, and as the election approaches, it’s bad PR. Way to lose House, Senate, and maybe a bunch of state legislatures and governorships!
The situation calls for creativity and boldness. The Left thinks it’s got all the “creatives”, so let’s use 'em.

Sadly, Lefties don’t get to carry guns. Neither do non-whites nor non-men. I have recently been on the bandwagon of repealing the Sacred Second Amendment, but maybe that’s the wrong tack. Perhaps it just needs to be explicitly expanded. Leave out the “militia” nonsense, which is now ignored anyway; add in something like
- The right to bear arms shall not be abridged by sex, sexual preference, gender, race, or religion (add more as needed)
and maybe fold it in as part of “free expression”, as the 2A’ers have been implicitly doing for decades now. And argue that none of these groups are currently allowed access.
Might make the “repeal” option more popular.

This is 100% true though.
But most of them are not guilty of any crime for it. Criminal conspiracy requires an agreement to do the crime, not just an agreement to look the other way after the fact.
