Group of Senate Dems Prepared To Vote With GOP to End Shutdown Without An ACA Extension Guarantee

After 40 days of the government shutdown — in which Democrats incessantly demanded Republicans get on board with their effort to protect the expiring Obamacare subsidies — at least 8 Senate Democrats appear to be prepared to break ranks with their caucus Sunday night, setting in motion an end to the shutdown without a promise…

This is absolutely insane behavior from the Dems.

Big bloc of Senate Dems apparently more afraid of airline headaches and the end of the filibuster than constituents without health care.

See you in the primaries, folks!

To have stayed steady this long just to fold is just, well stupid. And when DonOLD goes ahead and cuts more federal employees, insurance rates will still go up, and SNAP beneficiaries will still get punished…then what?

Absolutely pathetic, so on brand for the Democrats. They give up and end up in a worse position than they were to start with. Anyone who votes for this travesty needs to be primaried and removed.

The only hope is Johnson is such a fuckwit he manages to save the traitorous 8 from themselves.

The lesson, again, is that GOPers are rewarded for their awful policies and shutdown steadiness bacause a block of ConservaDems will always fold for nothing but false promises and an empty bag. Each cave in isolation has some logic but in the aggregate it makes possible a steady drift to the right on policy and further unraveling of the safety net. The GOPers’ best friends.

No.

If the Senate Dems vote for this, they deserve removal soonest.

No quarter. They need to go. They are no better than Fetterman.

A classic case of how to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Cue the Democrats in disarray headlines. And Dems wonder why voters think they’re weak and, ultimately, stand for nothing.

Look on the bright side: a lot of them are retiring anyway, so they wouldn’t even have anything to lose by holding out. They just want to cave because it’s in their nature. (Sorry. Gallows humor is all I got right now.)

The GOP was never going to give the Dems what they wanted. They could have gone on with that shutdown for months. The Republicans don’t care who they hurt. I wish it had ended differently.

If the Democrats pass this CR without restoring the ACA subsidies will prove the Republicans right and this was a “Democrat Shutdown” all along.

“Leader” Shumer, GET YOUR CAUCUS TOGETHER DAMMIT

What jaws of victory. I totally supported the Democrats holding the GOP’s feet to the fire. But I did not see any signs of the Republicans giving an inch. Maybe in another couple of months a couple of them would have gotten tired of the whole thing, but I am not sure about that.

That is not true. Democrats put up a fight, but they were outnumbered and the other side was not going to budge. They had to try. It was the right thing to do and people expected them to fight for that. But they can’t force the Republicans to vote to restore the ACA subsidies. That was never a guarantee.

As always Democrats will cave with nothing to show for the fight. Trump threatened to starve p[oor people and create transportation chaos, and the coward Dems crap their pants. You cannot expect to win a war without taking casualties. No wonder the Democratic Party has a 15% approval.

Call them what they are S.C.A.B.

Less than a week ago, they were handed conclusive proof that what they were doing was working.

This is a worthless, spineless, pathetic sellout move that will demoralize Democrats across the entire country. Why should voters turn out for their elected leaders, if their elected leaders are just looking for the first excuse to avoid a hard fight for a few crumbs?

Frankly, any Senator who votes for this proposed deal is dead to me forever.

Cant stand this traitor…what fucking win?

Democratic Sen. John Fetterman, who has voted on the GOP funding plan throughout the shutdown and criticized his own party’s stance, said Sunday that it is time to ”take the win.”

Vote yes, he said, “and then we can find a way to lower our costs about health care.”

What win is that, Senator? Explain that to us so you can understand.

Useless cunts. Anyone who votes for surrender needs to get primaried out of the fucking office.
