Doesn’t this somehow fall into campaign activity for Trump’s benefit? Isn’t there something written down, and not just a “gentleman’s” agreement, about not using federal government personal for campaigning purposes?
The only upside, slight as it is, is that Grenell and Patel don’t really have any idea how this whole “intelligence” program(s) work. So if I were an underling worth anything I should be able to document what’s going on, give to the Congressional Intelligence Committees the true poop, and if nothing else pile a shit load of paperwork on both Grenell and Patel to smother them until November.
I know that this is really serious but somehow we have to maintain hope.

My “hope” is based entirely on the power of their incompetence to eventually do themselves in. I’ve no hope whatsoever in our institutions, the press, the constitution, or the voters. If any of these entities can help bring Trump and the GOP down, I’ll take it gladly, but I have several orders of magnitude more faith in the predictable tendency of the venal, incompetent stupids to self destruct.

My bet: Right now, the Brits, the Euros and anyone else who used to be our allies are going to be thinking twice about sharing “real intelligence” . That would be too potentially dangerous. Our IC won’t be shut out completely if for nothing else, “appearances” sake. What intelligence is shared will be scrupulously vetted and much will be held back because they simply don’t trust us.
