When Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) took the stage Friday morning, she opened with a calmer tone than followers of her political career are used to hearing.
On Friday, she said that she was glad to be kicked off of her committees, given the “tyrannically controlled government,” since she’d be wasting her time there anyway.
I think she pulled a T****. Craves the spotlight, but never expected to actually get elected. And now has no friggin’ clue as to what’s involved / required.
She ended the press conference in a way strikingly familiar to those who watched Trump’s press conferences over the past four years: a verbal fistfight with the reporters asking her questions.
All kayfabe, all the time. The WWE school of stumping.
OK press here’s your chance to shine, next week don’t go, or send one pool reporter. If you starve it of attention then in a few weeks you’ll have something bigger to report on.
The real problem is that she really does believe all of this crap so she’s convinced that she’ll be vindicated as long as she waits long enough. Why should she denounce her own beliefs if she’s convinced she’ll be a hero soon for having told the truth when so many were pressuring her to turn away from it. She’s a hero in her own mind and not about to give that up for a few silly committee appointments.
The media needs to completely cut her off after today. She has no role at all in Congress anymore. She’s just there taking up space. What she says or doesn’t say is of absolutely no significance at all. She’s a publicity hound just like tRump.
The speech was ostensibly meant to buff up her image the morning after every House Democrat and 11 House Republicans votedto strip her of her committee assignments, just 32 days after she was sworn in.
First, she buffed, then she waxed insane. Sounds about right.
