Graham: Trump’s An ‘Equal Opportunity Abuser’ | Talking Points Memo

One thing Josh forgot to mention in describing Trump is his streak of cruelty and having no regard for inflicting pain, suffering and even death to the people of Venezuela, Central America, Syria (Kurds) Iran and Yemen. Regardless if he inflicts it via crippling sanctions, green lighting slaughter or military action/ support.
Venezuela is going to have to fail and be brought to a total collapse because of socialism. Cannot have that in a capitalistic world where the wealthy and powerful want to stamp it out and prove it’s a failed ideology. Venezuela was dangerous to them because they had oil, the largest reserves in the world. Sure, there was some corruption there, but they are not the only country with corruption. Corruption did not start them on a downward spiral. Not only was it under attack from hedge funds and the US via crippling sanctions, the wealthy in Venezuela have been trying to hamstring the government there for years since Chavez was voted in.

Do you recall the New York Times celebrating an attempted (and patently dishonest) right-wing coup in Venezuela nearly twenty years ago?

(I ask à propos of nothing, of course.)

he had a change of heart after getting to know Trump

That’s an interesting way to describe the complete 180 Lindsey did, first shouting for all the world to hear that Trump is dangerously unfit and would destroy the GOP, and then foaming at the mouth to attack anyone who doesn’t fellate Trump.

Still, it sounds like trouble in paradise:

I find him to be a handful, I find him to be an equal opportunity abuser of people

If these two can’t make it, what hope is there for closeted gay subs and their sociopathic doms?

Despite centuries of myth and literature, people still don’t seem to have figured out that ‘deals with the devil’ ultimately do not work!

He will likely face no opposition from this right in the upcoming primary…which for Graham, is highly unusual, so he considers that a win.

His Democratic opponent however, is closing the gap in polling already, and is raising some serious money.

Its going to be an uphill climb, but Graham is facing something he has never faced…a challenge from his left, now that he has positioned himself so far to the right.

Still, odds are that Graham retains his seat for 6 more years. And given he has literally no shame, I don’t expect any wraiting to be concerning to him.

ETA: The movement in the polls towards Harrison and his fund raising, has probably everything to do with Graham making statements like this.

“…none of the examples offered thus far captures the depths of Trump’s cruelty. Understanding that requires hearing the story of the late Freddy Trump, the candidate’s older brother, who died an alcoholic in 1983. After college, Freddy had tried to join the family business, but his heart wasn’t in it. He became an airplane pilot, showing talent in the profession. When his heavy drinking posed a safety risk, however, he quit, and wound up living in an apartment owned by his father and working on one of his maintenance crews, even as his kid brother Donald began to make a name for himself.”

In 1977, Donald asked Freddy to be the best man at his first wedding, to the Czech model Ivana Winklmayr, an honor Donald said he hoped would be “a good thing for him.” But the drinking continued, and four years later, Freddy was dead.

Over the next decades, Donald put the Trump name on skyscrapers, casinos and planes.

In 1999, the family patriarch died, and 650 people, including many real estate executives and politicians, crowded his funeral at Marble Collegiate Church on Fifth Avenue. But the drama was hardly put to rest. Freddy’s son, Fred III, spoke at the funeral, and that night, his wife went into labor with their son, who developed seizures that led to cerebral palsy. The Trump family promised that it would take care of the medical bills.

Then came the unveiling of Fred Sr.’s will, which Donald had helped draft. It divided the bulk of the inheritance, at least $20 million, among his children and their descendants, “other than my son Fred C. Trump Jr.” Freddy’s children sued, claiming that an earlier version of the will had entitled them to their father’s share of the estate, but that Donald and his siblings had used “undue influence” over their grandfather, who had dementia, to cut them out. A week later, Mr. Trump retaliated by withdrawing the medical benefits critical to his nephew’s infant child.

“I was angry because they sued,” he explained during last week’s interview.

Leningrad Lindsey, do you feel abused by the Russian-Installed Extortionist-In-Chief?

NOT a desirable trait for a human being, let alone a POTUS, albeit an Illegitimate and Russian installed one!

Additionally they, Bob Barr, Dan Burton and the wingnut caucus were gunning to impeach him a year before we even heard the name Lewinsky, Tripp and the Starr report.

The best response to Graham’s inanity is to keep replaying the video of his logic for impeaching Bill Clinton side by side with the video of his logic for his opposition to impeaching Donald Trump. That will unmask but one of his hypocrisies.

I missed this question (and so did Graham, apparently): "Senator, you stated the following in the Senate chambers on Jan. 16, 1999 : 'You don’t even have to be convicted of a crime to lose your (Presidential) job in this constitutional republic if this body determines that your conduct as a public official is clearly out of bounds in your role…Impeachment is not about punishment. Impeachment is about cleansing the office. Impeachment is about restoring honor and integrity to the office.’ Can you explain why you do not apply this same POV to Trump??? "

Someone likes power tops

Lindsey Graham has always been somewhat of a mystery to me in that I have always thought there is something deeply troubling about what he has chosen to do with his life and his complete capitulation to his desire for power at any cost. He has had many opportunities in his life to come clean, to support something worthy of his office, and he has always embraced instead the worst choices including his one consistent stance - the desire to bomb anyone and anything he perceives as a threat. He is not a mystery that I care to solve, however - my most fervent wish is that he and McConnell just go away. I have reaches the point where just seeing a picture of either one makes my stomach heave a little bit.

“I’m judging him by his conduct.”

Right. And that’s how you came to conclude that he’s an “abuser of people.” And yet, you still support him.

Stand by your man. Love hurts, and the first cut is deepest. Love is never having to say you’re sorry, and it makes the world go round. It’s a small world after all. I’d like to make the whole world sing in perfect harmony. All you need is love.

"I find him to be an equal opportunity abuser of people, but at the end of the day he can be very charming and be very gracious,” Graham said.

Not sure whether to cheer you on or tell you to go stand in the corner and face the wall.

For what it’s worth, I think I’ll go with cheering you on.

Lindsey, really man, shut up. Now I have the horrifying realization that you’ve got a roomful of leather bondage gear hidden somewhere while you wait for your dominant to have time for you. And that is really, really not a picture I want in my head.
