I’m going to ask my colleagues in the Senate, Republicans, to sign a letter to Nancy Pelosi saying we do not believe the transcript of the phone call between the president and the Ukraine is an impeachable offense.

Pelosi should send out a statement, instructing Graham to read the Constitution, and note where the power to impeach is held by the House – and that as a Senator, Leningraqd Lindsey should be doing his job and getting GOP Senators to force Moscow Mitch to vote on the various bills sent to the Senate by the House.
Of course Republican Senators aren’t going to impeach the president, impeachment is handled by the House. You would think a Senator and JAG lawyer would know that, but I guess Lindsey’s still flustered by that golf game with Trump.
Great, have EVERY sitting Republican Senator go on the record agreeing seeking foreign assistance in targeting for investigation and prosecution an announced candidate for President is acceptable. Have your vote. Put all your names on it.
I’m going to go out and find one of those tea party jackasses who used to go around to public events in 18th-century garb, tricorn hat and all, and make him get out his pocket Constitution and read me the part where it says you can write a letter declaring what you did non-impeachable because that’s a new one on me.

Bring it. This is the best possible outcome for Democrats politically. A target list of GOP senators for the 2020 election and no need to take a divisive, doomed vote.

The bar for this letter should be every single GOP senator must sign. Otherwise, we should be asking why the GOP is so divided.

Now, Graham in addition to tRump gets to decide what’s lawful/ unlawful, impeachable, not impeachable. Last I knew Graham was in the Senate and not the House. And, he’s going to work in a partisan fashion with his Rethugs colleagues.
This is what the Dems are up against, every day a new and crazier curve ball comes their way. How could they possibly predict this insanity, all to try to stop an impeachment?
Here you have the 2019 Republicans: The Party of Lawlessness and Disorder. Ask any ordinary citizen what would happen to them if they ignored a subpoena. The laws should not be enforced differently for the lawmakers. I think this is the message that may finally get through to the Trumpers. The Republican thugs are always playing the victim card, despite the fact that they usually get preferential treatment.
