Govs On Statewide Mask Mandates | Talking Points Memo

Very OT (well, except for the fact that Kanyeast is just as stupid and evil and ignorant as the GOP governors and Trump himself) but…

Holy Roman Emperor, Batman! Kanye West - you know, the psychotic musical genius who is better than Duke Ellington, Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones, and Danger Mouse combined - pulls a Todd Akin at his South Carolina campaign “event”:

…and that’s just for starters!

Some people could never understand how he could support Trump, but now it’s obvious: they’re both unrepentant narcissists who are out of their motherfucking gourds!

Comedy gold, Jerry!

Hutchinson then argued that a statewide mask mandate is the “right approach”

For about the millionth time, viruses do not respect state borders. Thus the best response is at the federal level.

Secondly, once it became clear that masks were effective in reducing transmission of the disease, it should have been one of the first levers pulled. It’s easy to do, innocuous, and highly effective. And, what’s more, it beats the hell out of dying or having to go into a lockdown.

You just can’t take your cues from a deranged leader.

I know you’ll appreciate this, irasdad.

Pam Bondi, Floriduh’s former Attorney General Barbie, thinks that Nazi tactics in Portland are just, like, peachy! And, OMG, is my eyeliner on straight?! Of course, this interview is on FoxToons, since any other newsperson except one on Fox or OAN would slap the white off of this ignorant POS:

I’m imagining a giant cartoon sledgehammer hitting Asa in the head and making him realize he is wrong and ordering masks be worn.

I’d still rather have a 'toon drop a piano on his head.

Rogue government, here we come. And if Roberts let’s him get away with this, what are the chances he will respect the election results?

NEW: Trump and top White House officials are privately considering a controversial strategy to act without legal authority to enact new federal policies — starting with immigration, administration officials tell Axios.

Florida’s already at 1/3 the fatality count of New Jersey, and just shy of 1/6 the total number of deaths in NY State. They’re ahead of Connecticut.

The 7-day trend line for Florida’s COVID fatalities sits at just above 100. NY was where they are on March 25. Florida, thankfully, doesn’t have the population density NYC has, so maybe they’ll get lucky, and not continue to spike higher and higher. But if we see the rolling average continue to jump up to 150, 200, then 250… lock it all down, fast.

As a gay man, Polis really pissed me off. It’s like he totally forgot how gay people were stigmatized during the emergence of AIDS, and all people have to do now is wear a fucking mask. Christ, it’s not like they have to wear a condom or go celibate, for fucks sake. Just put a lightweight piece of fabric over your face.

Coward isn’t a strong enough word, and I expected a lot more from a gay Democrat.

Frightening. ACLU already going to court. City and state as well. We need to fund wider spread viewing of the Lincoln Project. To view them all see. Thanks for link, I had checked earlier.

I live in Weld County in Colorado. About 5 minutes after Polis issued the mask mandate, the county commissioners issued a statement saying they were going to leave masking to individuals because the governor had overstepped. Seriously? In my opinion, even without a mask mandate, Polis has been handling things competently. He doesn’t prioritize popularity over people’s safety.

It’s not popular. It’s not something we want to do. It’s not the first lever we pull,” Hutchinson said. “But it is one that, when the data says it’s necessary, we do it.”

you just know all through this guys life he was always last in line.
last one to wake up in the morning, last to the dinner table, last to the bathroom, never cried where somebody could see him, never took a shower in the locker room. you get my point.
What is that old saying? When they were giving out brains he said no thanks I’'ll catch the next one.

Freaking Krauts they do have real leader to get them through…

What a bunch of weenies…‘It’s just not RIGHT to tell people what to do…’ while doing it right and left. Wear seatbelts, pay insurance, pay taxes, etc. etc. WEAR A FKN MASK. ALL the while criticizing the governors that did indeed show political courage to insist on them. D!ckheads.

We have no idea what the future will bring. In a hundred years the leader of the free world might be the Republic of Antarctica.

If the White House is seriously reading the John Yoo article and trying to base legal strategies off of it, they’re even more out of their mind than normal. Literally all the Supreme Court said was “you can end DACA, you just have to actually explain yourself a bit better.”

If I’m understanding this right, Trump and WH officials are openly saying that they’re relying on this John Yoo article for a roadmap on how to “violate the law” and get away with it?

John Yoo is a major war criminal, and–more to the point–this country has run into some considerable trouble relying on his nonsense legal analysis before.

Here’s some information those who work in Emergency Management refer to as ‘the rule of unintended consequeces’.

According to the American Red Cross, of the 21,000 trained disaster responders-

42 percent are over the age of 65
43 percent are between 40-64
And just 13 percent are between 18 and 39.

This means the people we rely on often in a disaster are also currently the most vulnerable.

And Fire; Hurricane and Tornado season are now upon us.

So potentially we could incapacitate up to 85% of Trained Crisis Volunteers from Covid-19.

And then what happens?

So, who in their immediate family or close circle of friends has been diagnosed? Because that seems to be what it takes to get it through their thick, thick skulls.

I’m on the other side of I-25 in Larimer County. Things are a little more sane over here.
