Governors Across The Nation Are Rejecting Trump’s Call To Reopen Economy | Talking Points Memo

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Governors across the nation on Tuesday rejected President Donald Trump’s new accelerated timeline for reopening the U.S. economy, as they continued to impose more restrictions on travel and public life in an attempt to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

Let Trump call for massive MAGA rallies on Easter Sunday. Let his faithful attend. Let nature take its course. Let that solve the problem.

Covidiot-In-Chief is setting up the governors as scapegoats while he will later claim that he saved thousands of Americans unlike them! Note that the Trump Regime has been out bidding the governors for medical supplies!

Covidiot-In-Chief wants to open America on Easter Sunday because Greed Over People Party says it OK to KAG - Kill American Geriatrics?

Two weeks later, there won’t be a resurrection…there will be a Lent Massacre, you MORON!

Can you vote while on a ventilator? Asking for a friend.

Some of those weird-ass fundamentalists seem to think Trump is the second coming of Jesus. What say we crucify him on Good Friday, bury him, and see whether he rises on Easter Sunday. If he does, he has 40 days to turn things around before he ascends into heaven.

But doesn’t this tread dangerously into the area of “state’s rights”?

Republicans will never put up with that shit.
Emperor Zero MUST control everything.

Not only should the Governors have ordered unneeded respirators two years ago they should have stocked up on anything that might ever be needed in an emergency once Trump was elected, because he’s made it abundantly clear none of it is his responsibility. What a complete jerk. They should have known.
Not only that, his claims that the mere threat of invoking the emergency powers under DPA is enough to get companies manufacturing what is needed is completely undercut by his statements that he will never invoke those powers because doing so would be socialism. The fact that the law is intended as a temporary measure to allow government to take the extraordinary measures only it can take effectively is meaningless to him.
This all makes my stomach and my mind hurt. I hate that he makes me so angry so much of the time.

Actually, I’m with Speaker Pelosi: just wait for him to self-crucify.

That churlish, hateful remark about Mitt Romney is another nail…

Sure! Get someone to request you an absentee ballot. You can even get assistance in filling it out. And, if you expire prior to election day, your vote still counts, because you were alive when you cast the ballot. Seriously - this happens all the time.

I believe that the call to “reopen the economy” is directed primarily toward the service economy. The wealthy will still have ways to distance themselves. It’s the restaurant workers, retail employees and other low-wage employees who would pay the biggest price.

And if he wants to hold a bunch of MAGA rallies, I’m all for it. Just provide your own locations (Mar a Lago comes to mind), and clean up after yourselves.

"I’m going to have the biggest Ascension, believe me, the fake news will be talking about it for years to come! The Pope, who’s been doing some great work, will come to me with tears in his eyes, ‘You’re the Jesus we’ve been waiting for! Jesus of Nazareth? He’s a bum!’ "

He wants to blame the “stupid” governors for the “bad” economy during the election.
“It’s not my responsibility. I wanted to open the economy.”

I’m surprised military leaders haven’t ‘asked’ him to step down. Surely they can see that he’s going to do some serious damage (more so than he has done) to the country if he stays on this path.

And yes, I never thought I’d be expressing such thoughts.
