Government Stockpile Secretary Under Scrutiny For Business Ties To Pharma

Just a few years ago, the federal government was paying $4.27 per dose for a smallpox vaccine to stock the Strategic National Stockpile. By 2018, it started paying $9.44 per dose — part of a 10-year, 18 million-dose deal with the pharmaceutical firm Emergent BioSolutions.

I am very glad to see that someone in Washington has read Dr. Bright’s complaint. I still haven’t had the time to read his entire 57 page attachment, but what I read only reinforced my belief that every political appointee in the current maladministration is corrupt to the very core. Sadly, that’s not new news. We all knew that. Here’s to hope and hard work in ending this tremendous travesty come November.

The title of this piece should read “Under Subpoena” but that’ll never happen.

It will take years to disentangle all of the corruption from this administration, both to root out the malefactors in the government and to deal with all of the legal cases that come from it. Everywhere you turn, there are inside deals, former employees working with their old businesses, and people trying to tear government oversight to shreds. The Republicans really have decided to prove that government doesn’t work for the people, by putting in place an administration that actually does not work for the people, backed up by a Congress (Senate only now) that supports that, and a court system that is more and more corrupt.

It’s going to be a long time to fix all this, and I wonder if the average American is up to the effort…fixing damage is hard work, with little reward, and it’s not clear people will pay attention long enough to see it through, especially with the Republican party still trying to tear the nation apart.

The asshole scrapped an Obama era plan to build a machine capable of producing 1 1/2 million masks a week, I think. They claimed they didn’t have the 35million it would cost. Just after the spent 2 billion on a smallpox? vaccine. What are we the 1890 Sioux?

It HAS to be done, no matter what. Democrats have ignored wrong doing by Republicans, to the detriment of the Country, for too long, from Lyndon Johnson ignoring Treason to Clinton letting George H. Bush off the hook for Iran Contra. Each time the same scum sucking Republicans resurfaced to do more damage. We HAVE to stop letting them off the hook.

In other words, everything is going according to plan. Trump has turned the United States into the New York real estate business.

“My standing guidance for this contract, and all contracts, is to get the best value and most protection for the American people,” Kadlec told the Post in a statement.

Minor clarifications. That’s the best value for himself, and the most protection from the American people.

Two words: Tumbrel. Cart.

The average American isn’t up to it but they don’t have to get involved. It will take an aggressive AG and a cadre of federal prosecutors who will go after all these assholes to bring them to justice. If the Dems control the Federal government, they can hire enough prosecutors to chase these scumbags to the end of the earth. It will probably require the appointment of a large number of judges to handle all the cases and control of the Supreme Court so they can’t get appeal and get a pass from the Republican majority.

Pay attention, maybe one possibly two terms by a dem. A dem who will need to fight tooth and nail just to return us to a semblance of where we were when O left office. To find and correct generations for no other reason than corruption that is now entrenched in the courts. Then many will say time to give the other side a chance and we are right back to this shit. Guarrentee and willing to place bets.

I would say that unless the American people are well informed about standard-issue corruption, the revolving door between industry and government, Democrats in power will not actively root it out. The media have to do their job and inform the public, and citizen outrage has to pressure politicians to do their jobs. And we’ve had plenty of this sort of corruption even when Republicans are out of power, though of course it is now more blatant than ever.

Given a choice between corrupt and incompetent and merely corrupt, I’ll take the latter.

And the grift goes on…and on…

We need more than one or two terms…the rot in the federal government has been planted deep by the Trump administration, with all the rule changes and policy directions they have put in place, plus the judges. What we need is two decades…that may happen if Texas really becomes a swing state, Republicans cannot win the presidency without it. Keeping the Senate is harder, but it’s possible with enough engagement; keeping the House should be easier if the Democrats really win a wave this year and get to have a hand in redistricting in most states.

The biggest problem is keeping people engaged and thinking about the long term…in 2016 all the liberals who were not thrilled about Clinton forgot about the judicial system, which is now full of judges that are heavily right wing, but people just ignored that and pouted or didn’t vote because of emails or whatever nonsense. That just cannot happen again in the next two decades, starting now people have to vote against the right wing no matter what, otherwise this nation is truly lost.

It’s 2020. They’ve figured out how to do it without the blankets.

This is probably one of the most disgusting examples of Government Corruption since the gilded age. How Biden can be quiet on this one is beyond me.
