Odds are the economy will be in the same or worse shape when he takes over in January. He’s pinpointed a major problem but curious to see if he’s offered any solution - certainly not too early to start working on one.

On a smaller scale, people in my neighborhood (upper middle class mostly, not when I moved here in 1994.) evidently think that car detailing is an essential service. Three such companies were on one street last week, all within less than a quarter mile from each other. First world problems.
Car detailing. While grocery clerks and elder caregivers die. smh.
The D House should not vote for a law that gives a penny more for COVID response unless that law removes Trump’s control over that response.
The absolute craziest thing about the pandemic is that Mnuchin has made himself the most likable member of the Trump team. If you had asked me in 2017 if I’d ever think Mnuchin possibly had a half-decent head on his shoulders and wasn’t TOTALLY craven and immoral, I would have said no. (He’s still 95% craven and immoral. But not totally so, apparently.)
I applied for a PPP loan for my professional services business. The process was cumbersome working with our bank. It’s essential for us. We were approved and signed the papers and are simply waiting for it to fund. We are more busy working in Cyberspace that we have been in years, but none of our clients are paying their invoices. The money spigot is shut off. This loan will allow us to keep paying employees until the the money starts flowing again, likely in the fall.
He’s still a banker. They can have good attributes when you need them, and are otherwise mostly greedy when you don’t need them. Also, the language of money in a disaster is less political than one might think.
Geeze…I don’t wanna be cynical or nothing, but I sure hope all that money, the hundreds of billions, didn’t go anywhere it shouldn’t.
Ruth’s Chris steakhouses gobbled up $30 million of it. Those poor downtrodden luxury steakhouse chains are people too.
Corporations are people! They now just all happen to be little people.
For many, many who need edit most - This turned into a cruel hoax .
Know people who had all their ducks in a row - ready to go at the start - only to be told of “new” requirements… or a delay in the ability to accept applications … or some other run around.
And now … these local enterprises - "essential " things like gas stations, local pharmacy, nursing home … places that were already freaking out because they are committed to continuing to operate … eventhough revenue has plunged …
These places are screwed … and their plight is swept out of the spotlight because… “there was a program”
