GOPers Who Heard Bonnen Recording Don’t Want It Released

Some Republicans who have heard the recording right-wing activist Michael Sullivan made of his meeting with Texas House Speaker Dennis Bonnen (R) — where Bonnen allegedly discussed a hit list of his members for Sullivan’s PAC to target in the primaries — are vehemently against its public release.

" “Any representative calling for this to be released in its unredacted, unedited form hasn’t heard it, because if you had heard it you wouldn’t want it to be released,” Texas Rep. Steve Toth ® [told the Dallas Morning News."

Thanks. Now we don’t need to hear it.

Sounds to me like it’s not Democrats these clowns need to worry about.

“Damaging” - because it reveals the actual ugly unvarnished utterances of the leadership of their party.
… “damaging” - in that it contains “TRUTHS” so toxic & repugnant that it could cause a large percentage of their supporters to finally say “OH MY GOD! THESE GUYS REALLY ARE ASSHOLES”…

Let’s guess as Groucho would say “the magic woids”
Something about Black people and Latinos maybe some misogyny thrown in for good measure. The Republican trifecta of resentment.

It’s the peoples’ business, so sounds like some FOIA requests are in order.

The Dems know something about this tape–they’ve been trolling Bonnen, saying that in the interests of full disclosure it should be released.

Texas Dems smell blood in the water for other reasons, too: even before this stuff, they believed they had a good shot at regaining control of the House. In-fighting and distrust among the Republicans has them positively steepling their fingers.

It’s not just the Republican leadership…

From top to bottom, the Republicans are the resurgence of the Confederacy and over powering the Union and the laws of the land and the US Constitution.

For years, the Republican Confederacy has omitted portions of the bible, omitted words in the US Constitution, andused twisted interpretations of legislation and standing legal precednet to undermine the Union.

Lookat the 2nd amendment and how the important words “well regulated militai” are totally wiped off the map by Scalia, Trump, Moscow Mitch, and the rest of them

Republicans = the resurgence of the Confederacy and the over throw of the US Democracy.

Except that none of the Texas GOP House members are African-American.

What this really speaks to, is the very real fear that Democrats can flip the Texas House in 2020 – making them co-equal in the redistricting battle royale that is scheduled for 2021. Texas may have up to 39 representatives after the 2020 Census (Trump f*ckery aside) – a pickup of three.

UPDATE:
According to some who have heard the tape, the details are starting to dribble out… apparently, there was a lot of anti-gay banter about a member of the LGBTQ caucus and a potential outing of another House member – this on top of the whole bribery effort.

I’m unfamiliar with the legal precedent, “This makes us look bad so hide it from the public forever”.

That shit won’t roll. (hoping that’s a cowboy country saying)

“damaging” and “embarrassing.”

Ladies and Gentlemen, today’s Republican party.
