Although several prominent Republicans on Sunday decried Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-GA) incendiary remarks — which include heckling Parkland shooting survivors and musing about the execution of Democratic politicians — they shied away from joining in on calls for the QAnon-promoting House member to resign.
We must accept the fact that there is only a limited amount of decency available even to the best Republicans. They must use it sparingly and they do – at the end of their natural lives they (those who have any decency) will have some left for use by future generations, however small that amount of decency is to begin with.
There is just not enough ethical backbone in the current Trump/Republican party to fill a teacup. I am really old, and I have never seen such a bunch of cowardly pussies in Congress in my whole life.
Leader of the Proud boys. Another profile in courage:
CNN visited Biggs’ home in Ormond Beach, Florida, just north of the Daytona International Speedway, to hear what he had to say now that he is out on bail and on house arrest.
He peeked through a curtain on his door when we identified ourselves, but stayed mostly hidden.
When asked if he was an insurrectionist, Biggs replied, “Oh God no.”
But as we pressed for why he was inside the Capitol building, he threatened to call police.
“If you don’t get the f**k out of here, I’m calling the police right now,” he said, pushing his phone around the curtain to take video."
Dear Lord we need to make dodge ball an Olympic sport ASAP!
Out of the four Kinzinger at least saw that she needed to have consequences for her actions. The other three aren’t in GA, don’t have to worry about running in GA, and have now shown that they have no standards and morals.
We’re all used to seeing the Sunday news shows have on far more many Repubs than Dems. What we’re not used to is seeing most of them on the defensive for a change, a situation they’re not used to being in and clearly don’t know how to handle. It’s also weird to see them attack each other and try to figure out where the safe ground is between pissing off their base voters and retaining enough centrist support to remain politically viable. It’s like seeing a Mafia war.
Too the GOP, losing an election fairly, is ‘cancel culture’. It’s conservatives that invent and co opt these terms. You have to give something a name, then you can weaponize it. Cancel cultural, is right up the Frank Luntz alley.
