A group of House Republicans gathered on the southern border Monday to press on with their pivot to “Biden’s border crisis,” claiming that an influx of COVID-19-infected immigrants will set the country back in its fight against the pandemic…

…because of their refusal to wear masks or be vaccinated?

Not just House GOP. Greg Abbott ran down to the border and held a press conference and said the same thing.

A pre-emptive defense for the surge we’ll get from his opening the state up, someone here noted.

Mexico has more to fear from ignorant Texan senators bringing their non-mask wearing spawn over the border than we have to fear from immigrants trying to escape persecution at the hands of gangs in Central America.

ETA: perhaps Qevin should talk to the farmers in his district who wouldn’t be able to exploit these immigrants to pick their produce.

Governor Wheels also announced that there was definitely voter fraud in Texas last November.

He is apparently intent on becoming even more disliked than he has been so far—and that’s a tall order.

Yeah, but what if they’re driving Dodge Caravans?

Spring Break in Florida, Vectors Of COVID That Will Take Pandemic 10 Steps Backwards

Vectors? As opposed to the maskless, drooling FREEDUMB klan?

Things I pull from this.

  1. GOPers admit we are making real progress.
  2. Masking must have worked.
  3. Closing things down had actual benefit.
  4. Getting vaccines out there is working.
  5. Washing your hands and social distancing was a winner.

I guess it’ll be a natural experiment between Mexican border states and spring breakers in Florida.

If it wasn’t Covid, they’d claim some other disease like they did during the migration of people from Central America in 2018, and every time before that.

Meanwhile, the gang of ignorant, extremist Central Texas Senators frequent the sun-drenched beaches of Southern Mexico, wreaking all kinds of PR havoc for their tourism industry because the app for Grubhub doesn’t work down there.

Typical GOP regressiveness: Complain, bitch and moan about a new administration’s efforts to correct the cruel, colossal blunder.of the previous administration and then offer no reasonable or humane solution to the the challenge.

How about giving each immigrant a vaccination against COVID-19. Seems like we will be getting way more that our own population will need, why not? Seems like a simple and effective approach.

If this isn’t straight out of the FoxNews/GOP playbook I don’t know what it is.

  1. Blame “others” for the problems their own base is experiencing through their own actions.
  2. Tie those “others” to the Democrats and their administration and policies.
  3. Beat those talking points into the ground through the right-wing media echo chamber to turn out mid-term votes.

And who among us is surprised by this? It was inevitable. It might well have been written into the plans for their opening the state of Texas.
