Amid conservatives’ ham-fisted attempts to blame Russian leader Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine on American “wokeness,” Rep. Clay Higgins (R-LA) apparently tried to make the same point in the form of an inscrutable rant via Twitter on Sunday.

Putin holds most Americans in contempt, particularly Black and brown citizens.

According to the Committee to protect journalists Putin is responsible for the deaths of over 40 journalists as well as the harassment of others and the closing of opposition media enterprises.

That’s almost poetic. The woke sky. Sleepy-head moon went to bed and the watchful sun took its place. The sun illuminates all and rouses us with its warmth. The moon casts its lesser light on the sleeping and the night owls, lighting up their dreams and casting lonesome shadows.
That’s a tweet that was composed about 36 hours into a blackout drunk.
Guys, I think all these references to a woke sky are a way to get “clouds” and “shadows” into the conservation and circle around to blaming Hillary Clinton.
Ocasio-Cortez tweeted over the weekend about Higgins. She said he’s like that in committee.
Culture warriors on the left are at it too, crying about reporters’ saying “civilized” in reference to Ukraine. Can we just agree that culture warriors of all stripes should be given as little attention as possible?
