I realize that this is not the most important part of the lawsuit, but these two sentences contradict each other.
If you relocate âfor workâ you have to already have a job. Lots of people move to a city in search of a job, but thatâs different than moving âfor workâ
The congressmanâs son wanted to get a job in DC, likely trading on his last name, and his dad enlisted his (taxpayer provided) staff to help him in this effort and put him up on the taxpayerâs dime (why didnât he just stay with his dad?)
O/T but you gotta see this from CNN: HUD Secretary violated the Hatch Act, Office of Special Counsel concludes
When I saw âHatch Actâ I thought that finally somebodyâs going to get nailed for the countless egregious Hatch Act violations during Trumpâs reign. Not so! The insanity of this one versus the Trump administrationâs repeated outrages will, well, outrage you. Or it should.
You can lose a job, and relocate to improve your odds of finding a new one.
why didnât he just stay with his dad?
Maybe his dad is one of those critters who shares a house with 3 or 4 other critters. Housemates. DC is expensive and it costs a lot to maintain a place you need to sleep in only 2 nights a week, and some critters really do that.
This should go to the House ethics office, lots of wrongdoing here. And, itâs not surprisingâŚRepublican politicians really seem to consider themselves as our boss instead of serving the people, so these kinds of abuses are probably de rigeur on that side of the aisle. Some Democrats do it too, but they seem more likely to want to serve the people than rule themâŚwhich makes it no wonder that Republican politicians love Trump so much, heâs what they all think they should get to do.
Actually, this is perfectly fineâŚa former politician is asked a political question during a press conference and drops back into her former politician role instead of her new role working in the government. She gets a warning, and probably will never do it again.
This is how things should workâŚthe problem is the egregious violations by Trump administration officials that ended up with more than one recommended for actual actions, including firing at least one (Kellyanne Conway). The problem is not that an administration official was warned to be careful, but that an entire administration flagrantly ignored the rules for four years, without any real punishment. Thatâs the reason to be mad, and to give the Hatch Act more teeth to cut the nonsense off.
âItâs all a pack of lies except for that part about my sonâŚbut you wouldnât know about it unless a disgruntled employee TOLD you. Anyway I am a CONGRESSMAN so my son was my guest!â WOW. The self entitlement is deep.
At the top of the list is an account of Lamborn allegedly let his son to live in a storage space in the basement of the Capitol âfor a period of weeks.â
Laying the groundwork for the January 6th insurrection?
Well, the article doesnât state which of these came first. Perhaps the adviser and aide assisted the son remotely in obtaining a job which required him subsequently to move to Washington.
I have no idea if this is what really happenedâand I actually doubt that isâ, but it is consistent with the two sentences which you cited.
