GOPer Made Staffers Buy Him B-Day Gifts And Let Son Sleep In Capitol Basement, Bonkers Lawsuit Alleges

Rep. Doug Lamborn (R-CO) was truly a nightmare of a boss in a number of ways, according to an eye-popping lawsuit by his former adviser.

I realize that this is not the most important part of the lawsuit, but these two sentences contradict each other.

If you relocate “for work” you have to already have a job. Lots of people move to a city in search of a job, but that’s different than moving “for work”

The congressman’s son wanted to get a job in DC, likely trading on his last name, and his dad enlisted his (taxpayer provided) staff to help him in this effort and put him up on the taxpayer’s dime (why didn’t he just stay with his dad?)

Wonder why the high concentration there… was there a mass migration from South Carolina? That is what happened to Indiana.

O/T but you gotta see this from CNN: HUD Secretary violated the Hatch Act, Office of Special Counsel concludes
When I saw “Hatch Act” I thought that finally somebody’s going to get nailed for the countless egregious Hatch Act violations during Trump’s reign. Not so! The insanity of this one versus the Trump administration’s repeated outrages will, well, outrage you. Or it should.

Don’t know about that, but CS is a hotbed of fanatical right wing evangelical Christianity.

You can lose a job, and relocate to improve your odds of finding a new one.

why didn’t he just stay with his dad?

Maybe his dad is one of those critters who shares a house with 3 or 4 other critters. Housemates. DC is expensive and it costs a lot to maintain a place you need to sleep in only 2 nights a week, and some critters really do that.

Dad would have had too hard a time explaining the comings and goings of the hookers.

This should go to the House ethics office, lots of wrongdoing here. And, it’s not surprising…Republican politicians really seem to consider themselves as our boss instead of serving the people, so these kinds of abuses are probably de rigeur on that side of the aisle. Some Democrats do it too, but they seem more likely to want to serve the people than rule them…which makes it no wonder that Republican politicians love Trump so much, he’s what they all think they should get to do.

Actually, this is perfectly fine…a former politician is asked a political question during a press conference and drops back into her former politician role instead of her new role working in the government. She gets a warning, and probably will never do it again.

This is how things should work…the problem is the egregious violations by Trump administration officials that ended up with more than one recommended for actual actions, including firing at least one (Kellyanne Conway). The problem is not that an administration official was warned to be careful, but that an entire administration flagrantly ignored the rules for four years, without any real punishment. That’s the reason to be mad, and to give the Hatch Act more teeth to cut the nonsense off.

‘It’s all a pack of lies except for that part about my son…but you wouldn’t know about it unless a disgruntled employee TOLD you. Anyway I am a CONGRESSMAN so my son was my guest!’ WOW. The self entitlement is deep.

In five years, one can only conclude that the number of severe assholes in the United States has grown exponentially.

The headline says “bonkers” which implies that the lawsuit is crazy – and not the behavior of the Congressman. Do better TPM headline editor.

At the top of the list is an account of Lamborn allegedly let his son to live in a storage space in the basement of the Capitol “for a period of weeks.”

Laying the groundwork for the January 6th insurrection?

Where was he the night of Jan 5th, and does he wear funky nike shoes?

Well, the article doesn’t state which of these came first. Perhaps the adviser and aide assisted the son remotely in obtaining a job which required him subsequently to move to Washington.

I have no idea if this is what really happened—and I actually doubt that is—, but it is consistent with the two sentences which you cited.

… and does he walk like a woman?

I would suspect the Congressman allowing his son to live in the Capitol’s basement would be a massive security breach.
